Managing project and production support teams for Corporate and Investment Bank as well as retail and consumer bank. Teams providing core and local banking apps for consumer and corporate banking.
Support for Core banking Flexcube, Trade Titans, Securities and Fund services SMAC.
In Addition for Systematics (ECB )core banking for Retail. Enhanced Card system (ECS+) for Cards products.

In addition to business application and core banking My Job scope in Citi include the full Infrastructure and operations areas as detailed on the below paragraphs.

Egypt Technology Infrastructure Head (IT Manager) في Citigroup

Providing Desktop, Network, Voice infrastructure for 1100 Users in 15 locations for 2 Major businesses. This is complimented by a Virtual Helpdesk with internet and IVR interface to users allowing an SLA of 15 minutes response time and less than one day resolve time in 90% of tickets.


Managing IT as a business of annual plan of 8 MM$ and Zero EBIT, Also providing business with product rates to enhance the chargeback for both Corporate and consumer businesses. Since 2010 till date, My unit managed to reduce cost pool from $8.25MM to $5 MM by introducing sustainable re-engineering of how we deliver support and also be introducing selective technologies like Thin Client and MPLS.

Implemented VMWare server environment in Frankfurt Data Center with backup in London Riverdale Data Center. Setups of 50 Virtual serves were implemented for in country processing. Packaged all application for Citrix XenApp 6.5 and Vertical application on VMware ThinApp 4.5 to ensure compliance to the company architecture rules. Most users are using Wyse V10LE, R10L and remote users are operating on Linux based R50L ad remote Wyse Laptops X50m.This has also provided a perfect DR for all scenarios of DOA and DOS.

With a very lean organization of Staff and SOW employees total 14 heads. BAU support provided at a green sustainable metrics in several areas; prominently Egypt provided the best track record of WIRE report across EMEA in 2011. Also managed a non failing SLA across all domains. Availability on critical platforms attested by business to be the best experienced especially on consumer touch points where my unit also provided insight on the business process to enhance Citi customer experience on several channels.


Using the 10 disciplines of Citigroup Information Technology Management policy ( CITMP ) widely similar to ITIL, I was able to successfully pass 4 corporate Audits and several functional audits both done by highly specialized dedicated auditors. This covered, Information Security, Incident and problem management, Change Management, Internet Management, SW Management, Project management, resource management, facilities management and Architecture management. This also covered SQL Dbase, Wintel, Voice, Middleware and firewall management as a functional audits.

 Excellent contacts with Major vendors in the infrastructure side. Deep knowledge of the regulatory environment in Egypt assisted by being the contact for Citi Technology with Central bank.

 Introducing and implementing ITIL standards ( The frame work and best practices of IT management ) to Citibank Egypt.

 Managing the production environment for delivering regional applications (Flexcube, Systematics, Regional Card System ) running on Regional Data Centers in London and Singapore for both corporate and consumer bank as well as locally hosted Work flow and archiving applications (Citidocs, Data Store32, Checks32 ).
 Pioneering the Citiphone Call Center for the consumer bank, achieving highest productivity for Call Center Agent using Avaya Call Management Systems (CMS and IVR), providing parameterization for products to allow speed to market for business.
 Implementing ATM network of over 40 Dispensing and deposit machines with the standard 99.8% Availability.
 Complying with information Security standards according to highly regulated Citigroup Polices.

In this Job, I was a consultant managing automation systems for 3 terminals for 24/7 basis, also providing integration with back office system.
