• Directly responsible for the performance of 3 Buyers specialized on Mechanical, Electrical and Piping material.
• Establishing and implementing the documents forms and their numbering system for the Procurement Department.
• Responsible for reviewing and applying the internal procedures to have them in conformity with the Contract agreed with the Client (QATAR GAS).
• Planning and scheduling the Buyers’ training and obtaining access to specific areas, as necessary.
• Ensuring that all consumable material and permanent material (e.g. Carbon Steel Pipes, Fittings, Steel Structure, Chemicals for Pre-commissioning, etc.) is delivered on or ahead of schedule, within budget and meets or exceeds specified quality standards.
• Liaising with Cost Control Dept.
• Coordinating with the Warehouse Dept. and HSE Officers for the proper and safe receipt of purchased material and the assurance of its correct certification, and subsequent material control for issuing the payment approval to the Accounting Dept.
• Identifying the availability of materials in the Warehouse (spool pipes, valves, check valves, flanges, PSV, gaskets, stud bolts, supports).
• Responsible for Subcontracts, such as for:
- Sand Blasting of Carbon Steel Piping Material.
- Waste Management and scrap disposal.
- Material Preservation.
• Managing activities carried out by Subcontractors, ensuring the scope of work is achieved in accordance with contract requirements and its time frame, and in compliance with the specifications and standard established.
• Ensuring that subcontractors’ duties are performed by competent and experienced personnel and in sufficient number to achieve objectives.
• Checking the completeness of Subcontractor’s invoices documentation, for issuing the payment approval to the Accounting Dept.

Reviewed the Authorization Procedure and efficiently managed the purchasing cycle time.
Increased the purchasing quality with a sharp drop of requests returned without bidder.
Tackled the crisis of material preservation after the resignation of subcontractor and performed this job within the Procurement Department, saving the company enormous loss that could be caused by the damage of stored material.

• Sourcing and negotiation with Spare Parts local (European) suppliers and international suppliers (USA, Far East).
• Surveying and analyzing the Middle-East market.
• Nominating the most appropriate representatives (agents or distributors) in several countries in Middle-East and North Africa, in order to build an indirect sales network.
• Conducting presentations at the clients’ sites to board of directors.
• Soliciting and follow-up of orders, starting by quotation and order confirmation, up to shipment and payment remittance.

Established the business from the rock bottom in the MENA region with major Clients (SAUDI ARAMCO, Saudi Electricity Co., Egyptian General Petroleum Corp., General Egyptian Maritime Co., Libyan Iron & Steel Co., and others).

• Communication with current and potential foreign suppliers and partners (APC, MAN, DEUTZ, JOHN DEERE, MTU, PERKINS, NEWAVE and others).

• Quotations and offers preparation (price calculation and cost estimation of subcontracts, cooperating with subcontractors).
