Bahrain-based Gulf Aluminium Rolling Mill (GARMCO) is one of the largest downstream aluminum facilities in the Middle East for rolling, cutting and fabricating aluminum. With an annual production capacity of 165, 000 tones, GARMCO specializes in producing high-quality flat rolled aluminum products in various sizes and alloys, including circles, sheets and coils. A separate foil mill, with a capacity of 20, 000 tones, produces semi-rigid container stock and fin stock. These products are exported to key markets around the world - stretching from Australia to the USA - to over 2, 000 customers in more than 45 countries.
Responsible for electrical engineering projects, maintenance, spares, for Cold mill and finishing line eg. Slitter line, Tension leveling Line.
Cold Mill automation supplied by Siemens VAI Germany, With TDC&S7-400 PLC.
Head of department for the Electrical & Instrumentation Construction/Maintenance/production activities of the bar Mill (4, 50, 000 MT Capacity) with slit rolling Technology from NCO Italy.
Commissioning and maintenance of ABB digital drives DCS800 for regulation of main mill stands and ACS 800 drives for regulation of AC motors.
Involvement in design coordination of Mill drives, HT/LT, MCC’s, PCC’s, PDB’s.
Participating along with ABB in pre-commissioning activities of ABB DCS-800 drives and AC-800 PEC PLC for Bar Mill.
Mill designed with latest state of art technology with AC-800 PEC Plc’s for Automation and patent technology for bar mill.
The design of the mill was by M/S NCO Italy, & Electrics

• Head of department for the Electrical & automation Construction/Maintenance/production activities of the bar Mill (200000 MT Capacity) with slit rolling.
• Commissioning and maintenance of ABB digital drives DCS800 for regulation of main mill stands and ACS 800 drives for regulation of AC motors.
• Involvement in design coordination of Mill drives, HT/LT, MCC’s, PCC’s, PDB’s.
• Participating along with ABB system house in pre-commissioning activities of ABB DCS-800 drives and AC-500 PLC for Bar Mill.
• Mill designed with latest state of art technology with AC-500 and Siemens S7-200 Plc’s for Automation and patent technology for bar mill.
• Commissioning and maintenance of HT and LT power systems.
• The design of the mill was by M/S korus engineering Delhi, & Electrics
By ABB (Venture controls Noida) with advanced controls, Automation with ABB
PLC.
• Took lead role in successful commissioning of the plant in very short time. Till now we have rolled wire rod and TMT 8 to 32 mm and 5.5 mm size successfully and the mill is running now at its rated capacity (Mill capacity is 230000 MT/Annam).
• Commissioning and maintenance of HT and LT power systems.
• Commissioning and maintenance of EEI digital drives (Gemco controls) for regulation of main mill stands and ACS 800 drives for regulation of AC motors.
• Siemens Midi master, Micro master and Master drives for controlling of crane drives.
• Siemens S-7 Plc’s, for master reference and US Data for HMI system.
• Medium voltage level switchgear up to 33KV.
• Various kinds of instruments, field sensors and other auxiliary equipments.
• Mill was designed with the latest state of Art of technology.
• In-charge for Electrical/Instrumentation, and Automation, systems.
• Took lead role in successfully commissioning of Wire rod mill
Bar Mill in very short time. Both the mills are running now
at its rated capacity.
• Wire Rod Mill Experience starting from the project stage
Participated in erection, testing and commissioning of wire rod mill
• In the operation of Wire rod mill Maintenance (Elec.) in the various
Positions starting from Engineer/Sr. Engineer /Asst manager/Manager (Elec.).
• The mill was designed for producing 25000 tons/ month and presently the production level was at 100%. The mill was supplied, erected and commissioned by M/s PPRM and Newfield engineers Bangalore India and Electrics by M/S NELCO, ABB and Gemco controls India.
• I have also taken training in Gemco controls for Electrics /PLC’s and Maint. of bar mill and WRM.
