1. Foster and promote Organization's/Group's commitment to a strong risk management culture by developing a control mindset within the business.
2. Leads the development of controls and measures to identify excessive operational risk and/or control problems at an early stage and ensures that immediate measures are taken to maintain quality and efficiency standards. For eg: Suggesting either a SIR or a RA (Risk Acceptance)
3. Monitor pending and due recertification and ensure prompt and timely closure. Evaluation of recertification on a regular basis, to ensure correctness & completeness to weed out inactive User Ids for maintaining a strong ID Management. Further verifying the exit checklist of attrition staff for better control effectiveness.
4. Reviewing the Key Operating Procedures (KOP/SOP) effectiveness and ensuring timely recertification with the new updates on a quarterly basis.
5. Ensure that current policies and procedures are in place (and are being followed) for business unit functions and are in compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements. Besides ensuring the staff are provided adequate training on all the policies relevant to the day to day activities. Circulating Crisp awareness posters and flash slides on all basic risk aspects and hygiene factors ( Initiatives like - Did You Know, Are you aware of the existing controls, Risk It - Quiz on Controls)
6. Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on all Operational errors/losses to identify appropriate preventative and detective controls are in place for business functions and drive recommendations to strengthen control weaknesses.
7. Act as an escalation point for risk and control related matters for the entire department and responsible for implementation of Incident Management Policy
8. Collaborate with other risk management teams, besides working closely with Group Control team.
9. Serve as department lead for all audits and regulatory examinations. Track and monitor all audit report and regulatory examination findings to ensure all open issues are resolved and closed in a timely manner.
10. Providing Transition Toll Gate sign off on new projects from Risk & Control Perspective
11. Conducting independent Design Evaluation & identifying design gaps, implementation and operating effectiveness, to evaluate compliance with internal policies, and assess the effectiveness of designed controls. All identified risks to be discussed with the process manager and suggest/derive specific action plans and ensure timely closure for all by tracking.
12. Assess operational readiness of the business unit's ability to take on a large, new client prior to client on-boarding.
13. Monitor and report all SLA breaches and preparing MIS to the Management - Process wise Heat Map, risk scorecards, implementing the Quality Assurance projects
14. Preparing & sign off on Self Assessment (RCSA) process and spot validation on an ongoing basis
15. Serve as the liaison and key point of contact for all Internal Audit, Compliance and Regulatory reviews for the operating group.
16. Ensuring the relevant BCP/BCM scripts are in place and reviewing the same on an ongoing basis and escalating the gaps to management.
