Overseeing activities at an aquatic facility.
Assisting with swimming lessons.
Explaining and enforcing rules, regulations, and policies to ensure the safety of patrons.
Monitoring designated areas to recognize signs of danger.
Warning swimmers regarding unsafe situations.
Maintaining order in swimming areas.
Responding to emergencies and rescuing swimmers in danger of drowning.
Performing first aid procedures.
Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of all areas.
Maintaining records and reports.
Opening and closing the pool each day according to scheduled hours
Regularly treat the pool with the correct amount of chemicals
Closely monitoring activities related to the pool area, identifying any safety issues throughout shift
Directing swimmers out of water in dangerous conditions, Closely monitoring weather reports to make sure guests remain safe
Organizing and overseeing pool parties
Providing swim lessons and coaching swim team when applicable
Maintaining a clean pool environment
swim instructor is responsible for instructing
all swim lesson participants
This position is also responsible for the safety of
the participant in their own class
Work hours as scheduled which includes beginning and
ending class on time; remaining
after class to answer participant and/or parent questions
as needed, and clean up supplies.
Instructs and evaluates students participating in
swim lessons
Submits completed report cards, skills sheets and
attendance information on time
Attends mandatory meetings and training sessions as
scheduled
Act immediately and appropriately to secure safety
of patrons in the event of
emergency.
Presents professional appearance and attitude at all
times, and maintains a high
standard of customer service.
All other duties as assigned and appropriate.
