Performing the inspection activities w.r.to various strategies and focus on Integrity and Quality for
Pressure vessels, API 650 Storage tanks, piping spools, Bend pipes, plates, structural components.
Preparing & Reviewing Manufacturing documents, WPS, PQR, WQT, NDT Procedures and witnessing
NDT, Welding/Painting, Hydro & Pneumatic Test, FAT.
Exposure QA/QC activities for fabrication of Pressure vessels, piping, API 650 storage Tanks, Heat
Exchangers, and witnessing different stages as Welding, Coating inspections, NDT activities.
Exposure in Turn around Inspection for In service inspections and Performing the inspection activities
w.r.to various strategies and focus on Integrity and Quality for Pressure vessels, Piping, Storage Tanks,
Furnace, Compressors, Air receivers for Petrochemical, Oil & Gas plants etc.
Witness Hydro & Pneumatic Test.
Responsible for activities related to Materials Inspection, MTC Review, welding planning &
execution such as:
* Planning, Execution & Testing of PQRs
* Preparation of WPSs, Weld Map, Inspection Test Plans, Weld Repair Plans, Manufacture Data
Reports, and other Testing Procedures required for projects. Review and understanding relevant
industry standards and Codes.
* Welder & Welding Operator Qualification & Testing.
* Providing welding related inputs to Design, Project Management & Planning Departments.
* Review the customer P.O specs for compliance to codes and specifications understanding,
project requirements.
* Attend Kick off meetings, Pre-inspection meeting etc.
* Responsible for incoming material inspection to ensure material compliance to code and P.O
requirements.
* Carryout Metallurgical Inspection of Materials in lab and other mechanical tests for various
materials like forgings, castings, Carbon Steels, etc…
* Responsible for overall inspection planning.
* Responsible for monitor and ensure the stage wise inspection activities as per approved ITP and
preparing documents
* Witness internal FATs and also coordinate and witness external FAT with customer/TPI.
* Responsible to ensure the requirements of ISO 9001 QMS requirements and ASME are met.
* Quality surveillance on shop floor and internal processes.
* Conduct regular Quality meetings/tool box talks for awareness on quality requirements.
* Stage wise painting inspection such as temperature conditions, Surface preparation inspection,
Chloride check, coating inspection (WFT & DFT), Holiday Test, Adhesion Test, etc…
* Planning and execution of welding and painting inspection with Third Part Inspectors.
* Preparation of stage wise Painting and Welding Inspection reports.
* Verify stage wise inspection, Final Inspection & Welding.
* Report and verify repair work and whether it is attended or not.
* Responsible for SAP transactions for QC activities.
* Reviewing Vendor’s welding related documents and development of new consumable vendors
for future projects.
* Liaison with Third Party Inspection Agency, Authorized Inspector (ASME), Certification Bodies,
Design Engineering Consultants, etc. for project specific related activities.
* Troubleshooting & Expediting Project related issues such as consumable & welding documents
management, major repairs, welding related activities etc.
* Thorough knowledge of ASME codes and standards for Pressure Vessels (ASME SEC II, SEC VIII
Div.1, SEC IX), NACE, B31.1 & B31.3
* Knowledge of various welding processes like SMAW, SAW, GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW.
* Worked with various types of materials such as P1 (C-Mn Steel), P3 (C-Mo/Mn-Mo Steel), P4
(1.25Cr- 0.5Mo Steel), P8 (Austenitic Stainless Steel), P43 & P45 (Inconel & its alloys), etc.
* Familiar with Client Specifications related to Coating and Welding.
* Well versed with inspections related to Paintings as per ITP and inspection and application of
various paint Systems
Preparation of Welding Procedure Specification (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records, weld
overlay/cladding procedure qualification, Welder Performance Qualification Record (WPQR),
Weld Repair Plans, Welder continuity Record etc.
* Welder and Welding Operator Qualification & Testing.
* Prepare NDE and Inspection report on daily or weekly basis as per the client / project
requirements.
* Check and record welding parameters.
* Raw material and Welding consumable inspections at vendor manufacturing facility.
* Surveillance inspection of welding consumables storage and welder activities.
* Good knowledge of Radiography film interpretation.
* Attend Kick off meetings, Pre-inspection meeting and Vendor inspection.
* Preparation & review of quality control documents like Inspection Test Plan, Procedures:
Hydrostatic/Pneumatic Test Procedure, NDT Procedures: RT, UT, PT and MPI as per client
specification, codes and standards.
* Raising Non Conformance Reports (NCRs) to solve problems. Ensuring that All NCRs are
adequately monitored and the concerns dealt with effectively on time
* Review and approve sub-contractors inspection test plans and other QC documents for
conformance to specification, codes and standards and identification of inspection intervention
requirements.
* To advise on repair techniques, material selection, welding procedures, inspection & testing
requirements for routine plant related problems and finalization of daily, weekly & monthly
inspection reports.
* Review the customer P.O specs for compliance to codes and specifications &
understanding project requirements.
* Attend Kick off meetings, Pre-inspection meeting etc.
* Responsible for incoming material inspection to ensure material compliance to code and
P.O requirements.
* Carryout Metallurgical Inspection of Materials in lab and other mechanical tests for
various materials like forgings, castings, Carbon Steels, etc.
* Product and Process Audit at Suppliers End
