• Complete measurement and re-measurement of building and civil works from drawings and adopt the rules of measurement using the appropriate method such as CESSM3 (as used in this project).
• Cost Estimation and build up rate for variation works/new items arising in the contract.
• Liaise with appropriate project staff to include engineering staff, site staff and design team to review and compare project information with tender documentation to locate and evaluate the cost and value of certain variations and prospective variations from budget plan.
• Regulate and constantly review the accuracy and relevancy of subcontractors’ applications for payment, variation submission and pursuit of claims.
• Assist the Commercial manager to assess the cost and revenue of the project to make sure the cost commitments are in line with the project budgets.
• Evaluate the interim and final accounts under the Main Contract and Subcontracts as directed.
• Subcontract management: Evaluate and certify subcontractor’s interim payment application, assess variation and claim and prepare and agree with subcontractor their final account once their scope is finished.
• Forecast monitoring and prepare accruals.

Able to assessed and set with Engineer’s QS to agree a variation worth AED 250 million.
• Regulate and constantly review the accuracy and relevancy of subcontractors’ applications for payment, variation submission and pursuit of claims.
• Provide budget (as allowed in the CATS) to Procurement Department for procurement and work packaging purposes.
• Assist the Commercial manager to assessed the cost and revenue of the project to make sure the cost commitments are in line with the project budgets.
• Evaluate the interim and final accounts under the Main Contract and Subcontracts as directed.
• Conduct regular site visits and keep up to-date regarding site activities and progress.
• Assist in the operation of the project cost control system through “Cheops”.
• Forecast monitoring.
• Responsible for tendering: preparing and estimating bill of quantities from architectural and structural drawing.
• Monitoring the progress/site work progress to ensure that is being conducted in a cost effective and timely manner.
• Assisting with post contract administration, financial appraisal (I.e cost valuation report, accruals). This includes CVR to analyze the status of the project and to mitigate any loses if this arises; coordinating with the Client regarding with the payments, prepare variations, make correspondence; Analyzing and writing detailed progress report and valuing work and arranging payment.
• Regulate and constantly review the accuracy and relevancy of subcontractors’ applications for payment, variation submission and pursuit of claims.
• Prepare and submit Monthly Progress payment to the Engineer. This includes a joint monthly inspection with the Engineer’s QS to ascertain the value of the work done.
• Re-measurement of quantities from drawings and actual site visits and apply the information to subcontractor and employer related activities.
• Evaluate monthly progress payment submitted by the sub-contractor, variations and claims, and prepare correspondence with regards to their claims.
• Preparation of monthly report accomplishment
• Identify the Packages, Scope of work, to be carried out by the sub-contractor then invite prospective bidders and evaluate the submitted bids to ensure their compliance to the drawings and specification.
• Evaluate the submitted bid documents, prepare a price comparison and check their compliance to the specification, and endorsed to the manager the contractor who fits the requirement.
• Quantity take-off and estimate of the pertinent items in the drawing.
• Contract Management: Coordination with the sub-contractor with regards of the work progress and evaluates monthly billing.
• Engineering: Check the technical requirement of the materials and evaluate its compliance with the specification for practicality and commercial purposes.
• Assisting with post contract administration including meeting, financial appraisal (i.e cost valuation report, and accruals).

Assigned in the construction of the following projects: Temporary Jetty for coal power plant and Bridge retroffiting project. Duties and responsibilities are but not limited to following:
• Quantity takeoff and cost estimate.
• Prepare rebar cut and bend schedule.
• Prepare monthly accomplishment report to be incorporated in the main contract payment application.
• Prepare bill of materials and other office engineering works.
