ONGC-MRPL INSERVICE INSPECTION PERSONAL ONGC-MRPL Refinery Mangalore from May 2015 to March 2016 (Vessels, Heat Exchanger, Finfan coolers, Reactors, columns, heaters & Piping) for the Following units - Hydro cracker unit, Crude/vacuum distillation units, Visbreaker & Merox unit.
Side Scraper, Stacker, Rotary Slice, Air Separator, Central Tube, Duct, Steel Stack, Preheater, Columns & Beams, pressure vessels.
Clients Approvals:
ADNOC (Abu Dhabi National Oil Company), Saudi Aramco, KNPC Kuwait, Saipem, BPCL Cochin, MRPL, HPCL, BHEL, Thermax, L&T, FLSmith, Dangote.
• Responsible for the overall quality coordination of the project.
• Review and understand client specifications and referencing codes standards in line with the scope of work
• Prepare project quality plan (PQP), Inspection and test plan (ITP) and other project specific procedures obtain client approval.
• To ensure quality assurance and quality control activities are performed in accordance with requirements and properly documented and reported.
• Review project welding and NDT requirements, identify WPS/PQR and their qualification.
• Supervise all QC Engineers/Inspectors activities for all disciplines (Structural, Mechanical, Materials, Dimension Control, Painting, Document Control)
• Schedule/conduct project specific audits, supplier audits, sub-contractors' audits, follow-up audits and close out audit findings
• To monitor weld repair percentage of the project, prepare repair statistics and identify root cause
• To conduct the Quality training to the project team members, conduct toolbox talks to promote awareness of the project requirements and processes.
• Responsible for the final review, approval, close-out of the documentation.
• Attend project meetings internally with GPC team, and with clients.
• Reviews the activities of the QC Engineers/Inspectors involved in the project. Confirms, verifies, and approves the Internal Release Note during the various sequence of fabrication operation.
• Co-ordinate with Client's Quality control team and ensure that they are totally satisfied with the quality of work.
• Perform routine surveillance, inspection, monitoring, auditing & assurance of Contractor's site activities (Fabrication & welding, NDT/ in accordance with the projects & Contractors, specifications, ITP and Quality Plans.
• Reviewing and getting approval from ADNOC subcontractor prepared quality procedures
• Inspection of Raw materials as per ASME, ASTM, API Standards and confirm the material as per MTO, BOQ, Material test certificates (MTC's).
• Provide Quality guidance to the subcontractor and construction team on any technical issues.
• Review Contractor's method statements, QC procedures, ITP and Quality Plan and assist with establishing acceptable working practices for construction activities.
• Lead all the maintenance, shut down, tie-in and hot-tapping activities at site and to ensure compliance with quality and safety. To act safely in case of any unforeseen incidents.
• Liaise with the Construction Department before and during project execution of works to ensure that all works carried out follow the project requirements and that the workmanship is up to the required level of quality.
• Ability to identify problems, understand complex work processes, technical standards & procedures.
• Inspection and respective documentation of all mechanical activities including piping, Pipeline, welding, structural works at site.
• Consult with the design department for getting approval for site As-Built Drawings, Piping Isometrics and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams of all the site modification works.
• Interpret all type of engineering drawings (GA, P&ID, ISO, FABRICATION etc.)
• Ensure traceability of all materials and equipment from purchasing and up to delivery on site.
• Maintaining NDT % of piping system/Class wise and confirm it is according to isometric drawings
• Interpretation of piping & pipeline radiographs & monitor all NDT activities.
• Planning and scheduling coordinating for the daily NDT jobs.
• Interpretation of positive material identification for alloy steel materials. Generating, Documenting and Maintaining Integrated Management system (Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Management System)
• Preparation of Integrated Management system documents in line with ISO 9001: 2008, ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001: 2007, review and update the documents at regular intervals.
• Providing internal training to employees on Integrated Management system and explaining the roles & responsibilities.
• Preparation of Annual plan for Internal Audits
• To conduct Audits as per annual plan and initiate Corrective Action requests (CAR) and follow up with the Auditee in the closure CAR.
• To conduct Management review meetings at regular intervals to discuss the performance of Management system, status of corrective actions, customer satisfaction and continual Improvement.
