Provide information/education to patients and their families about procedures and treatment plans as required and based on individual needs.
Assist the Medical Practitioner with treatments & examinations.
Assist with non-surgical and surgical treatments/procedures as required.
Administer prescribed medications.
Responsible for sterilization process in accordance to the clinical standard operating procedures where necessary.
Maintain infection control standards according to policies and procedures.
Daily check of designated Emergency Cart.
Monitor all clinical equipment’s for maintenance and repairs.
Maintain daily inventory of drugs.
Maintain weekly inventory of all consumable items.
Provide nursing support in all medical emergencies as required.
Escalate complex issues related to patient services to the Nurse Manager when they arise.
Responsible for the accurate documentation of all guest intervention
Provide support in the absence of the Practical Nurse.
Maintain an appropriate level of continuous professional development.
Attend and participate in regular departmental activities, meetings and/or reports.
Promote effective communication strategies and maintain good interdepartmental liaison.
Communicate using appropriate terminology for the guest, their families and other healthcare professionals.
Maintain confidentiality and objectivity in accordance with the ethics of the profession.
Promote and practice effective communication and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
Practice within his/her area of competence and assume accountability for his/ her professional responsibilities.
Demonstrate communication, cooperation with team and guest harmoniously
- Assesses patient's condition / illness
- Formulates nursing diagnosis related to patient's condition / illness
- Implements independent (bedside nursing care), dependent, and collaborative nursing interventions
- Documents every details of patient's care
- Acts as patient's advocate
- Assists physicians in diagnostic procedures
- Performs as a part of the health care team
- Provides insight on methods and practices for use by professionals in the healthcare, health services and academic work environments
- Teaches students the fundamentals of nursing practice
- Supervises the students in the clinical area
- Demonstrates patient's care in clinical units of the hospital
- Prepares and administers examinations, evaluates student progress
- Coordinates nursing/training programs
- Cooperates with medical and nursing personnel in evaluating and improving teaching and nursing practices
