• Engineering support for multiple concurrent projects, involving:
• Real time monitoring and modelling of Pore pressure, trajectory and well bore stability
• Provide recommendations to client in the prevention/elimination of formation fluid influx, fluid loss and wellbore instability
• Generate pre-drill pore pressure and geomechanics solutions to be utilized in well planning applications
• Support geomechanically dependent drilling operations and advise for optimal well construction
• Drilling Performance analysis, parameter recommendation & optimization
• NPT/ILT identification, assessment & recommendation on reduction
• Real time geomechanics pore pressure/fracture gradient estimation in carbonate well application, with high inclination (>90 deg), North Sea for ConocoPhillips Norway.
• Real time geomechanics PP/FG gradient estimation in Ultra-deep water Niger Delta, for Chevron Nigeria.
• PP/FG predrill North Sea study for Talisman Norway
• Knowledge of Landmark EDM suite, COMPASS, WELLPLAN and experience in Drillworks software.
•Develops and coordinates major studies in Petroleum Engineering areas based upon objectives and requirements
•Interpreting scope, initiating new studies or applied technical work as required and performing all phases of
the study via formal summary reports and presentation to Management.
•Consults with and provides technical guidance to related engineering groups on matters of technical competence such as budget studies, reservoir studies and equipment purchases.
•Reviews activities of various phases of Drilling and Oil Operations activities and reports on adequacy and efficiency of performance.
•Monitor tool performance and report trends to product centre with solutions for improvements.
•BHA design, Torque and Drag calculations and interpretations.
•Drill bit selection for optimum performance based on Geological experience and drilling application.
•Drilling optimization studies for critical or strategic applications, e.g. VibraSCOPE, Hydraulics and TerraSCOPE Software.
•Calculation and interpretation of various drilling dynamic dysfunctions and provide solutions e.g. Lateral, Axial and Stick slip vibrations.
•Calculation of Rock strength analysis in order to optimize drilling operations.
•Assembly of case histories and outstanding run reports for internal and external use.
•Provide technical applications support to sales through customer visits and presentations.
•Supervise coring operations in various applications, providing recommendations for safe and efficient operations aimed at reducing NPT.
•Work with sales team, gathering and evaluating data in order to select, design and recommend technical solutions to achieve optimum performance.
•Prepare and interpretations of wellcad plots, prepare bit proposals for tender process
•Calculation of Rock strength analysis in order to optimize drilling operations
•Calculation of mechanical specific energy to enhance drill bit selection
•Calculation and interpretation of various drilling dynamic dysfunctions and provide solutions e.g. stick slip severity, vibrations.
•Use of bit optimization software’s for efficient bit selection e.g. Rocky, DBA, wellcad, Advantage hydraulics, bitpro, torque and drag, Swab and Surge calculations.
•Collecting, structuring well data to build up an understanding of drilling environment
•Capture lessons learned during drilling phase and inform client on recommendations to optimize future drilling operations.
•Well monitoring via gas and mud systems to ascertain the reasons for any change and provide solutions.
•Preparing final well reports, gas logs, drill logs, daily reports and Ascii data
•Acquiring accurate/real time drilling data and maintaining a database of it.
•Trouble shooting/Installation of electrical sonic sensors and rig up of various equipments
•Understanding of well performance, log interpretations and well integrity processes
•Interpretation of under compacted formation and HT/HP zones.
•Advanced mud-logging systems, use of software such as masterlogs, Real/depth time monitoring in HPHT and Exploration wells, Geolog.
•Examine, Analysis of samples at well site and the production of lithological logs
•Participated in the construction and laying of 10’’x 11.4 km Utorogu - UPS Pipeline project, including constructive input into front end engineering with respect to route selection consideration integrating local and environmental considerations.
•Carried out DIY in Cathodic protection remedial works and Condition monitoring
•Contractor selection, including HSE performance monitoring and evaluating other key performance indicators
•Planning and developing materials and methods for promoting safety
•Supporting project HSE requirements, Participated in shift handover and tool box meetings.
•Interpreting legislation on relevant environmental issues and providing practical guidance aimed at maintaining and developing best practice
•Participated in environmental impact assessment and environmental baseline survey.
