A senior role responsible for managing the Project Services team (15 personnel), which supports major and capital facility projects within the Eastern Australia Business Unit (EABU). Responsible for advising and mentoring the team on execution strategies, stakeholder management, governance, assurance, project controls, risk management, estimating, quality management, QA/QC, document control and finance services across the portfolio of projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES / ACHIEVEMENTS:
- Managed project services for a portfolio of projects which range from A$5m to A$325m in value, with the total portfolio being worth circa A$1b;
- Managed the Project Management Office function for Engineering & Projects department;
- Ensured robust application of project controls techniques across the project portfolio. This included:
+++++ establishment of detailed work breakdown structures and project schedules;
+++++ development of time-phased cost estimates;
+++++ cost & schedule risk analysis for contingency development;
+++++ utilisation of earned value management;
+++++ robust application of management of change processes;
+++++ alignment of contracting strategy to execution strategy (including tender evaluations); and
+++++ monthly project reviews across cost, schedule, risk and funding aspects;
- Ensured integration and alignment of Engineering and Contracts & Procurement deliverables to the project plan and ensure that contractor progress measurement process was followed to improve reporting accuracy;
- Successfully implemented the corporate cost management tool (PRISM G2) across the portfolio of projects;
- Developed and implemented project delivery and controls documentation and tools (Project Management Platform) to provide streamlined and scalable project management system for all projects;
- Developed and implemented a Project Assurance Tool to allow for pragmatic scalability of project deliverables for capital projects, ensuring formal agreement between the Project Manager and Project Director on all project management deliverables;
- Developed electronic documentation and process flows to streamline and improve efficiency & accuracy of multiple paper based documents / systems (e.g. management of change; lessons learnt);
- Developed an across business-unit guideline for the establishment, budgeting, monitoring and reporting of an annual seriatim of projects which had an annual budget of A$200m;
- Conducted an across business review / gap analysis of project controls and project execution - leading to organisational changes to improve Project Controls within sub-surface function;
- Reviewed and approved, as EABU Subject Matter Expert, all modules for bespoke project management course for Santos, delivered by ESI International in association with The George Washington University;
- Managed the governance and assurance of the project gating process to ensure that minimum requirements (e.g. revised business case, maturity of engineering and project planning, peer reviewed cost & schedule, etc.) were met prior to the projects progressing to its next phase and funding approved; and
- Ensured that all quality expectations were met from systemic and project perspective, including QA/QC requirements.

2IC to the Location Director responsible for providing Operational Management support to the Adelaide office and 100 personnel.
RESPONSIBILITIES / ACHIEVEMENTS:
- Provided HSEQ leadership within LogiCamms;
- Developed and managed the annual operational budgets, including overheads, capital and reimbursibility, as well as determining annual ‘schedule of rates’ for use within the business;
- Helped facilitate the development of the company’s Annual Business Plan;
- Conducted Project Health Check reviews (cost performance, schedule performance, scope compliance, risk) for LogiCamms’ portfolio of projects;
- Conducted audit and gap analysis of business systems, including facilitation of improvement activities;
- Developed estimation / proposals procedure and tools, whilst responsible for final commercial approval of outgoing tenders and proposals;
