• Management of three data centers - business, scientific and disaster recovery, covering over 44, 000 Sq Ft.
• Management of 16 staff delivering a 24 hour, 7 days a week service
• Management of Data Centre Specialists and 4 technicians, as well as a storage and DR specialists.
• Management of a Telecommunications Building and Security Headquarters
• Design of new Research Park Data Centre.
• Planning the infrastructure for a 2nd Super computer worth $100M.
• Security analysis including involvement with physical access, including design and planning of new security devices
• Reviewing and implementing improvements to the Data Centres with the service provider.
• Working with the construction teams to implementation of Vesda systems and Novec 1230 gas suppression within the Data Centres.
• Recommended and implemented changes to the HVAC system to improve its cooling capacity.
• Designing processes and procedures for the contractors to work to so they meet global standards.
• Assisting with various other contractors to ensure that systems are installed in the Data Centres which meet the high standards required
• Implementation of top of rack switch design to enhance the Data Centre Design and reduce cabling and therefore possible fault liabilities.
• Starting a Fire Warden program designed and implemented for University wide use.
• Responsible for all the facilities within the building (Building Manager) where the Business Data Centre is located.

• Dealing with suppliers from Cabinet to electrical supplies to security.
• Working with the construction teams for installation of fire detection and suppression.
• Input on various ITT/RFI's for client projects.
• Assisting in consulting with client wanting to relocate their facility to Global Switch.
• Responsibility for ensuring that all floor plans are up to date.
• Attendance of project meetings for the delivery of any space required for large and small projects
• Experienced in LAN and Data Communications and of Tape back up in the data centre as well as working in a large multinational environment.

• My Project Management role work was varied, I dealt with, bringing in standards across all of the Data Centres.
• In 2005/2006 I was heavily involved in bringing in a new media tape solution into 4 of BT Data Centres, saving the company over £10m over 5years.
• Implementation and introduction of a Service Assurance programme to the Data Centres
• Main project in 2005/2006 was to reduce BT's costs in the Data Centre’s, reducing server maintenance. Costs reduced to the value of £1, 000, 000
• Reduced BT's cost by over 1.5Million that year in old and unwanted servers and server rentals
• Involved in several external audits.
