Summary:
The Trading Analyst is responsible for the conduct of research and analysis on the financial, economic and statistical information for the use of the Trading Group in their trading strategies.

Duties & Responsibilities

Market Price Forecasting and Trading Analysis

•Conducts daily, weekly, monthly projections, and research on various financial reports on internal and external market information for the use of the Traders.
•Develops market dispatch optimization models and scenarios, using the applicable software, and determines dispatch schedules, energy prices for the preparation of market price projections for trading purposes.
•Conducts analysis for the formulation of the system energy supply projections using the prices and schedules of all the plants posted in the WESM website.
•Develops analytical models and identifies opportunities to optimize trading and contracting of electricity and other forms of derivatives in relation to the WESM.
•Performs analysis of the daily trading reports and trading strategies prepared by the Traders.
•Ensures that trading activities are consistent to offering policies set by the company, as well as to the WESM/ ERC/ DOE rules, regulations and policies, as well as policies of other regulatory agencies critical in the trading operations and related activities.

Summary:
The Trading Specialist is responsible for the trading of electricity generated by portfolio of plants via Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) and maximization of revenues from company assets through strategic offers.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Analyzes the trading strategies and makes recommendations based on actual market and power plants scenario.
- Prepare and input daily energy offers based on demand outlook and marketing strategy.
- Conceptualizes and develops market dispatch optimization models to determine dispatch schedules, energy prices and for preparation of market projections.
- Demand forecasting and analysis.
- Develop an energy simulation that determines the optimal plant dispatch either to increase WESM Revenue or save fuel by purchasing from the market at lower prices.
- Constantly monitors the activities and actual output of the power plant to avoid consequences.

- Follow NGCP dispatch protocol and PEMC WESM Rules.
- Validate WESM Final and Preliminary Statement with Final and Preliminary Settlement Data. This is to ensure that data on hand are all correct.
- Responsible for Submission of BCQ Declaration and Reconciliation.
- Responsible for all Trading Reports (e.g. Daily Revenue, Weekly Revenue, Monthly Revenue, Quarterly, Annual Reports, etc.)
