Since qualifying as a registered nurse in 1991, I have worked consistently within a health care setting but had the valuable experience of working with a variety of patient groups.
I have 10 years experience of working with young adults managing physical disabilities in a rehabilitation setting. Acting as a key worker for a small patient group, providing one to one care and assisting patients with all their activities of daily living. In this particular role, I worked with a teenage girl with downs syndrome who had sustained multiple injuries following a road traffic accident. As her key worker within a multi-disiplinary team, i worked with other allied health care professionals for several months on a rehabilitation programme, which included ongoing education and management of her disabilities. I believe my communication / interpersonal skills enabled me to form a trusting relationship with this particular patient. Which eventually allowed a successful discharge back home to evolve.
More recently my career pathway focused on working with women diagnosed with breast cancer, this gave me the opportunity to utilise my communication skills and enabled me to provide psychological support and education to this particular patient group.
I came to Riyadh 6 months ago to join my husband. I would love the opportunity to develop a new career pathway which would allow me to utilise the skills that I have developed over the years.
