Establish a new investment franchise in Pretoria. I was responsible for total management function. The franchise renders distribution services to the Independent Financial Advisers. Discovery changed the business model and the franchise had to adjust to a multi-functional distribution outlet of all financial services. These included short term, long term insurance, investments and health products.
Assist Independent Financial Advisors, Standard Bank Financial Advisers and Private Bankers to structure risk aligned portfolios, prepare presentations and actively participated with the advisor during the sales process within the high network segment. Train Financial Advisers to ensure the correct application and understanding of the financial instruments. Position the selection of STANLIB in house and Franklin Templeton Offshore Funds during the process of fund selection. STANLIB provided a Collective Investment Platform with a variety of Fund Managers’ funds to select from. My responsibility was firstly to position the STANLIB Collective Investment Platform and secondly to assist the advisers in the portfolio structuring or rebalancing of the existing portfolio either to match the individual risk profile or the investment strategy.
