Responsibilities:
Provide consultation relates to material selection for mold and die applications.
Conduct mechanical and other special testing for non-conforming incoming materials, weld samples to verify material quality. (Metallographic analysis, Tensile test, Hardness test, 3 point bend test, chemical analysis, EDS & SEM analysis, DP test, Magnetic particle test, Ultrasonic test, Radiography testing).
Analyze material related product failures received from end- customers (Toyota, Nissan, Komatsu, Manitou, etc.) to improve product quality.
Analyze manufacturing defects relate to materials and tabulate the results in Minitab to find the root cause for future prevention.
Prepare and review material related work procedures and specifications as per (ASTM, EN and BS standards).
Visit steel suppliers annually and prepare Technical Delivery Conditions (TDC) for new developments and discuss existing quality issues (Suppliers are located in Russia, Turkey, Slovakia, China and India).
Introduce new technology to utilize material & streamline existing processes.
New material development and optimizing of input materials.
In line with international standard norms ISO 9001:2015, ASTM, EN.
Model test simulations using dynamic software systems (SOLIDWORKS).
Investigate requests for deviations from established materials or suppliers and made appropriate approval or denial judgments.
Plan and evaluate new projects, consulting with other engineers and corporate executives as necessary.
Review supplier proposals and materials and provided ongoing monitoring to maintain consistent supplies.
