Kemper Insurance Companies is one of the largest insurance carriers for personal and commercial lines of insurance in US. This project
involves Business Enhancement of their Personal Lines Information System (PLIS) module. Kemper is a group of 4 companies LMC,
AMICO, AMPICO and AMM. Kemper deals with Auto, Home as well as Package policies.
Contribution:
Branch code conversion project (BCC) had 1990 COBOL / IMS Programs. The conversion project was a part of Business Enhancement to
the system in which the numeric Branch-code field was being converted to alphanumeric to accommodate larger number of branches.
The project (PLIS) was involved study of the current system and implementing new business requirements. The work involved modification
as well as new coding. The IMS-DB/DC, DB2 programs modified using Change Data Set (CDS) facility and tested in the simulated IMS-DC
region BTS.
Right Price included Screen Scrapping work by analyzing the IMS-DC Cobol programs and designing the use cases for web enabling at
client site.
