Project: Dubai Metro Extension (Route 2020): The project scope is to design and build the extension of Dubai’s Red metro line, also called Route 2020, and upgrade the SIG and COM system of the existing line. The project involves the construction of a 15-kilometre-long line - of which 11.8 kilometers of elevated metro line and 3.2 kilometers underground metro line - branching off the existing red line at the Nakheel Harbour & Tower station

Significant Contributions
 Manage the technical and contractual scope of the Thales subcontracted works for the following scope:
o Operational control system (OCS) and Communication system (COM)
o Automatic Fare collection system (AFC)
o Automatic train control system (ATC)
 Ensure that the offered solution for OCS, COM and AFC system is in full compliance with the project requirements to achieve full coverage.
 Establish the baseline and deliverable list (Contract Deliverables Requirement List) with planning in accordance and follow-up of the progress.
 Validate the technical solution and choices with System Engineering teams off-shore and on-shore. Ensure that the technical solution meet the overall system RAMS requirements allocation.
 Ensure the application of all the relevant Engineering Processes in line with the Consortium requirements
 Identifying the technical risks and develop mitigation plans.
 Identify the solutions for the technical gaps that was not seen during Tender.
 Review and ensure the quality of Thales deliverables for:
o HW - BOQ in place, all the documentation associated complete (FAT reports, certifications)
o SW - SW Delivery processes complete, CRs, SORs and ORs accompanied, FAT is done with proper coverage (including operational scenarios), Safety validation done.
o Contribute to maintain the CARs, NCRs, NCNs, OILs and ITRs as per KPIs assigned by Quality Department
 Participate to the Change Control Process at the Consortium level and communicate the impacts to Thales technical teams.
 In case of contractual scope evolution, raise variation order and manage it accordingly.
 Facilitate and ensure the integration of Thales Technical solution with other Alstom System and other subsystems. Drive the closure of the Interface Control Documents per latest schedule.
 Ensure the timely delivery of the Design documentation and ensure the quality of the documentation.
 Participate to the validation activities of OCS, COM & AFC and ensure validation methodology covers all the requirements of the project (both FAT and Field Test)
 Ensure that the technical activities meet the overall project timeline and where necessary implement mitigation plans to expedite the deliveries.
 Ensure the coordination between within the Technical Team to ensure meeting the targets/objectives and with Thales and other Alstom Subsystems.
 Support Installation and T&C team to achieve the scheduled milestones for all subsystems.
 Support the SAT and SIT milestones per the latest schedule both for Extension and Enhancement

SYSTEM ENGINEER (SCADA, TELECOM)

Project: Dubai Tram - Phase I: The project includes a central system to supervise, control and manage in an integrated mode all communication services related to passengers and tram operations as well as the remote supervision and control of most of the technological systems that are part of the Dubai Tram.
Dubai Tram comprises some 10 km of line and 11 stations (two of which will be interconnecting to the Dubai metro) with maintenance and stabling facility. 9 stations will be at grade, and 4 elevated

Significant Contributions:

 System engineering of SCADA interfaces with various rail subsystems (Signalling, Media, Telecom, Power, Automatic Fare collection, Road signalling, Building Management system, Fire Alarm system, Access control system etc.
 Thorough check/ understanding of the Project Contractual requirements for full compliance with the System being designed.
 Prepare SCADA Interface design specifications with exhaustive information and ensure the technical and contract requirements are complied with the involvement of various levels of the Alstom organization and external system suppliers and Interfaces.
 Management of I/O class and I/O lists for the subsystems interfacing with SCADA/RTU
 Responding to Client remarks on the design specification and initiating workshop with clients to close the open issues raised on the Interface design specifications.
 Coordinate with various offshore teams to finalise the design and deployment \[SCADA- Team Sao Paolo, Telecom -Team Bologna, Media - Team Montreal, POW - Team France, BMS_FAS_ACS - Team Besix/Siemens\].
 Produce the test procedures for SCADA functional test and Interface test for on-shore T&C activities (PIT, SAT Procedures and Test Reports).
 Plan and coordinate testing and commissioning activities of SCADA system (Signaling, Power & Facilities) and its various Interfaces (POW, AFC, PSD, SIG, CIVIL, RSG, MEDIA, TELECOM)
 Chairing the weekly Interface Design Review meeting, Testing Commissioning Planning and Progress meetings for the duration of the project with representatives of the CW team (BESIX/Siemens) to discuss and plan on-going Design activities and issues.
 Initiate SCADA MMI design review workshop with Client (RTA/SYSTRA), understand their expectations and finalise the MMI screens with necessary views.
 Participated in the SCADA Facilities MMI design review in Sao Paolo, Brazil.
 Support to PrEM in Change management process at SCADA product level. Prepare change request/review/analyse and ensure CRs are processed correctly.
 Managing the external interfaces of SCADA, COMS and Media with the civil subsystems (BMS, FAS, ACS and VES).
 Non-Regression test and Deployment of new SCADA software releases and on site validation.

 Implementing special strategies related to maintenance procedures.
 Performing routine maintenance inspections of equipment to identify and respond to problems in a timely manner, thus preventing breakdowns.
 Providing solutions and fixed equipment malfunctioning, system faults and network errors - Using root-cause-failure techniques, corrective actions, modifications and performed replacements and/or new installation.
 Performing daily system log analysis
 Ensure the Service Request/Work orders are closed in timely manner required by the priority
 Reviewing TIS Software Configuration Registers to ensure all software components are readily available for Maintainer use.
 Writing of technical reports, recording any customer complaints and forwarding to the responsible department.
 Prepare inventory for the Servers installed in Dubai Tram Network and keep a check on the spare availability of similar Server types.

 Installation of real time and historian servers, domain configuration, network implementation and deployment of scada software’s at central servers and local servers.
 Contributed in successfully achieving the target of opening of DUBAI METRO to the public on 09/09/09
 Conducted FAT & SAT for OCS SCADA, RTU’s.
 Conducted onsite standalone test, point to point test, site integration test & functional test at all Red line & Green line stations with the systems that are part of metro rail and are integrated with OCS SCADA.
 Played a key role in fishing out the inherent bugs in the RTU system during the FAT stage.
 Independently interfaced RTU with Third Parties viz. Allen Bradley’s Tunnel ventilation system, Rockwell‘s Environmental control system, Honeywell’s Fire protection system.

PROJECT - EAST WEST GAS PIPELINE (INDIA'S LONGEST):
 Installing and Commissioning of Telvent OASYS SCADA, gasCAT RTU and HIMA SIS (Safety Instrumented System).
 Maintained proper documentation and ensured that safety life cycle is followed.
 Participated in FAT & SAT of SCADA, RTU & SIS system held at Dubai JAFZA and Played a key role in fishing out the inherent bugs in the system during the FAT stage
 Conducted onsite standalone, point to point, site integration test & safety functional test at all 11 compressor stations.
 Prepared and tested Station Logics during FAT and at the time of commissioning.
 Participated in FAT for BARCO Large Screen Display (LSD) held at Kortrijk (Belgium) & Karlsruhe (Germany)
 Successfully installed and commissioned Large screen display to provide a Larger view to the operators operating the gas pipeline from the Main Control centres.
 Independently interfaced with Third Parties viz. GE FANUC, Daniel FLOBOSS Flow Meter and EXHEAT HEATERS.
