Pre Contract Services:
 Study scope of work, specification, Addenda and all other related tender documents, notify discrepancies and raise tender queries.

 Attend to the pre tender meetings with the client and engineers.

 Prepare the schedules and working program for subordinates to meet the deadlines and targets.

 Coordinating with the subordinates and guide them to send the inquiries to suppliers and subcontractors, maintain proper indexed enquiry files, and follow up quotations.

 Compile the Bill of Quantities Update the price including preliminaries.

 Prepare the tender analysis reports, Preliminary Cost Reports for the projects at schematic design stages.

 Prepare post tender clarification and value engineering exercise

 Issue inquiries to suppliers and subcontractors, maintain proper indexed enquiry files, and follow up quotations.

 Scrutinize quotations for compliance, notify discrepancies, if any, and request for clarification.

 Prepare vetting sheets for comparisons.

 Answer all post tender queries and attend post tender meetings with Developer, Client, Consultants and Main Contractors.

Post Contract Services:
 Evaluate & Certify Contractor’s Monthly Payment Applications according to the site progress.

 Evaluate Contractor’s extension time for completion claims, Assessing Variations and additional Works.

 Preparing Monthly Interim Payment Application based on site work progress.

 Attend to the weekly Sites Progress & Commercial meetings with the Client, the Engineer & the Contractors.

 Establishment of standard quantity surveying procedures for monitoring & measuring completed work on site and certifying of accurate interim Payment Certificates.

 Prepare budgetary cost estimates for new works and advise client accordingly.

 Handling all day to day Commercial Correspondence related to Post Contract Services.

 Preparation of Bill of Quantities, Revise the Bill of Quantities in Re Measure Contract Form

 Supervision of every activity in building from starting to end of work.

 Prepare progress report. Project Cost Report and organize meeting with clients, Engineer and consultants.

 Monitoring of work progress by in house manpower and subcontractors.

 Preparation of the variation orders and financial progress reports.

 Attending to Commercial Meetings with Client and PQS.

 Handling Subcontractors’ Payments and their variations,

 Comparison of Subcontract work & Procurement materials against to the project budget

 Maintaining and records of material on Sites.

 Preparing of Interim Extension of Time Claims and follow up with PQS.

 Draft Subcontract Agreements with in the package for various different subcontractors.

 Draft the Contract Agreement based on FIDIC 1987 Fourth Edition & 1999

 Directly reporting to the Project Manager and to the Group Commercial Manager

 All other day to day Quantity Surveying Works related to the Post Contract Services.

 Assessing of the variation orders for the client approval

 Advise timely the Resident Engineer, Project Manager about the commercial status of the

Project.

Assigned to the Greater Kandy Water Supply and Augmentation project. Main duties were taking off quantities for new works, preparation of monthly payment applications, certifying subcontractors’ payments certificates, finalizing subcontractors packages
