The project involves development of Bhutan’s largest commercial and industrial town Phuentsholing. The project will provide protection from floods and erosion, and construct smart urban infrastructure to allow phased urban expansion. A modem township will be developed on sustainable principles of equity, livability, and competitiveness, and it will be integrated into the fabric of the existing municipality and preserve Bhutan's unique architectural heritage. The project will also protect the existing and new town from floods and riverbank erosion which currently threatens lives and livelihoods and disrupts connectivity with nearby communities. The new township development also provides space for public services such as health facilities and schools, and commercial businesses. This will contribute to expansion of the country's services sector and diversify the economy from heavy reliance on hydropower.
Responsibilities include reviewing and advising on, and undertaking if necessary, stability calculations, the reinforcement, detailing for all structures to be constructed under the project in Phase 1 and planned in Phase 2. Structures include, concrete diaphragm walls, drainage culverts, elevated water retaining structures, river crossing road bridges etc.
Consulting Services for the Detailed Engineering Design and Tendering of Projects under Asset Preservation and Road Improvement Components of the Road Improvement and Institutional Development Project (RIIDP) in Philipines.
The Government of the Philippines has received a loan from the ADB for the Road Improvement and Institutional Project (RIIDP), co-financed by the OPEC fund for International development (OFID). The components of the project are a) Asset Preservation (AP) which includes Civil Works of 9 road sections along 8 national roads located nationwide with a total length of about 255km, Detail Engineering Design (DED) for road section with total length of about 16.421km, Construction Supervision (CS) of 9 road sections, DED and tendering for 6 road sections located nationwide with a total length of about 366km, b) Road Improvement (RI) which includes DED and tendering for 8 road sections located nationwide with a total length of about 482km of which two road section need extreme rehabilitation / improvement instead of simple AP only and, c) Institutional Capacity Development (ICD).
As an international Bridge / Structural engineer responsibilities include co-ordination of investigation of existing bridge conditions, data and information collection and leading a design team of ten members in order to make detail engineering design of about 100 new bridges of short to long spans throughout the project areas.
Consulting Services for Azerbaijan Second Road Network Development Program, Tranche 2: Construction Supervision of the Alat-Astara Highway, Jalilabad Intersection to Shorsulu Intersection (km 110+700 to km 80+600)
The Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan has requested the Asian Development Bank to provide financial assistance for the Second Road Network Development Investment Program under the proposed Multi-tranche Financing Facility (MFF). Part of the funding under the MFF is used for construction of the Alat - Astara Highway, from Jalilabad Intersection to Shorsulu Intersection. The consulting services are involve review of detailed design and approval of good for construction drawings, certification of all the works under the civil works contract for quality and quantity, civil works contract administration, and benefit monitoring and evaluation.
As an international bridge specialist / structural engineer, reviewed the detail design of bridges, underpasses, flyover, box culverts and other structures within the project (total 296m). Rendered guidance’s, instructions to the contractor for adjustment in the design and construction works of the bridges and structures as required. Supervised the day to day construction of the structures based on sound international practice. Assisted team leader in the preparation of inception report, monthly progress reports, alternate developed design and construction guideline reports and in the process of approval of design and construction of the structures etc.
Advise DTCA on planning and policy issues on urban transport sector for greater Dhaka area.
Advise Project Director of CASE project to manage the consultancy service of Bus network design study and detail design of BRT line 3, and other transport studies as needed including monitoring the timelines of execution, reviewing reports to ensure quality of the deliverables. Prepared feasibility study report along with detail structural design, quantity and cost estimate of a tunnel of length 1050m at Kakrail location which was initially proposed as flyover and the report is accepted by World Bank. Contribute major role in fixing criteria for topographical & utilities survey, geotechnical investigations, design criteria and review of structural design of a flyover of length 2150m and a tunnel of length 1050m along with numbers of other bridges, culverts, BRT bus stations, depots, terminals, underpasses and foot over bridges to access BRT stations under the project. Coordinate tasks with other members in the DTCA.
Project : Eastern Bangladesh Bridge Improvement Project (Institutional part).
The institutional part of the project involves review of the existing Bridge Maintenance Management System (BIMMS), Review of RHD Bridge Condition Survey Manual, Improve design of Bridge Condition Survey (BCS) forms, Inventory and Condition survey of 4509 bridges and establishing Bridge maintenance standard and bridge maintenance manual. Responsibility included full co-ordination of technical part of the above matters and assisting Team Leader. The project was funded by JBIC.
Project : Sustainable Rural Infrastructure Improvement Project. Bangladesh.
The project is undertaking by the Local Government Engineering Department and financed by the Asian Development Bank. The project involves selection of roads which need to be developed at 21 districts of 3 divisions in Bangladesh, identify probable bridges and culverts to be constructed, replaced or repaired on those selected roads, preparation of selection criteria for important rural roads and structures on rural roads, selection of Growth center markets & jetties for development and construction. As a Sr. Structural Engineer of the Project responsibilities include to select probable new bridges and culverts & identify damaged structures which needed to be replaced within the project area; making of detail structural design of bridges whose probable total length is 3273m. The total allocation for the project is US$ 109million.
Project : Transport Sector Development Project, MID, Solomon Island.
A consolidated CPIU established within MID’s existing Transport Infrastructure Management Services Department. The responsibilities of the CPIU are implement and manage all transport sector activities, whether funded by the Project or other resources. The CPIU is staffed by existing MID personnel and supplemented by consultants to provide the required expertise to implement the NTP. The Project also undertakes a range of capacity development initiatives for MID staff through coaching and on the job training.
Responsibilities included carry out scoping work of the sub-projects; carry out feasibility studies with respect to engineering, investigation and engineering design of wharves, bridges and other structures. Responsibility included making of condition inventory of 37 Wharves and 26 Bridges. Recommended necessary action to be taken for the wharves, prepare design criteria, preliminary design, design reports, technical specifications, BOQ and detail cost estimates for 10 major bridges (total length 579m) and other structures and also capacity building of the existing MID engineers.
Project : South-Western Bangladesh Rural Development Project. Bangladesh
Was responsible for planning, structural design and drawing preparation of 484m bridge over Arial Khan river at Sadar, Madaripur,
Project : Operation & Maintenance of 4800m long Bangabandhu Bridge over river Jamuna.
The project involves operation and maintenance of 4.8km long Bangabandhu Bridge over river Jamuna at Bhuapur, Tangail. Responsibility included making of guideline for Bridge Health Monitoring and supervise the whole monitoring activities includes cracks appeared on the deck slab of the bridge. But as the operator failed to make arrangement for installation of sensors required for health monitoring, left the project.
The project involved land development, construction of resettlement satellite town for the effected people at Bakherkandi (southern end of proposed 6.15km span Padma Bridge) which includes 529plots with all urban facilities like internal paved roads, connecting bridges, school buildings, power substation, mosque, market, medical centre, community centre, water supply, drainage and sanitation systems etc. As a Senior Construction Specialist duties include final checking quality of design, drawings and documents, overall construction management, supervision of civil works, checking of technical specification, final bill of quantities, tender documents of the contract, preparation of monthly progress, statement of completed work etc.
As an additional duty, planned and designed of all structures like school, mosque, madrasa, community clinic, community centre, market of new resettlement site near Janjira construction yard.

The project involved replacement of 68nos existing old, substandard, deteriorated and damaged bridges by new standard bridges (total length 3484m) at the eastern part of Bangladesh which includes Dhaka, Chittagong and Rajshahi division. Responsibilities included assesing and selecting the damaged structures, collection of field datas required for structural design, fixing bridge geometry, design criteria, bridges length and span arrangement, structural design of the bridges.

The project involved implementation of construction, rehabilitation, reconstruction and improvement of the existing damaged roads and road drainage structures in Dhaka, Chittagong and Rajshahi Zones. Responsibilities include review, redesign and construction monitoring of bridge and other drainage structures of the project which includes 12 bridges (total length 600m) and culverts of different arrangement.
As a Senior Structural Engineer responsibilities included checking of design of structures and coordination of projects.
Activities performed:
Checked structural design of 150m VVIP and 90m Horses Tunnel under Proposed Development and Construction of the New Training Tracks 1 at Nad Al Seba, Dubai, Parcel ID 600-7589 project for Meydan LLC and made comments on design and suggested for necessary revision.
Checked structural Design of 6storied club house and multipurpose hall at Tangier, Morocco.
Worked as an Infrastructure Design Coordinator of Proposed Meydan City Development and Construction at Bu Kadra, Dubai, Parcel ID 611-122 project for Meydan LLC, which includes 7nos prestresses box girder bridges (total 285m), Tunnel, Roads and Retaining walls etc. Responsibility included co-ordination of data collection, conceptual design of bridges and monitoring of works done by the sub-consultants.

Responsibilities included guide the local engineers to finalize the structures need to be reconstructed or widened and to fix the proper structure locations, opening required for each structure, span arrangement, finished road level at structure location and founding levels for the 78 nos. structures (total length 1565m) of the project.

Culvert at different places in Chittagong division for Directorate of Relief and Rehabilitation under FFW structure program (FY 1989-91). The project was financed by US AID and the total length of the bridges and culverts was 257m.
Designed 3nos. RCC simply supported and balanced cantilever bridges at Manikgonj and Nawabgonj for LGED under Large Bridges and Culverts Project as turnkey basis in association with Mostafa & Associates Ltd. The total length of the bridges was 189m.
Made structural design of seven storied garments building at Kalabagan. About 20 nos. residential buildings were designed at different places in Bangladesh for individual clients.
Worked as an Office Engineer in USAID FFW Structure Program (FY. 1988-90, 1987-89) of DRRB From September 1, 89 to April 30, 91.
