• Performing and supporting T&C related tasks for ERTMS Level 2 Signaling used in Etihad Rail
• Monitoring, analyzing, controlling and supervising the status and performance of main line rail operations
• Coordinates on-site Engineers or remote activities during Dynamic Testing for railway operation related to
Radio Block Centers (RBCs), Computer Based Interlocking (CBI) and ICSS (Integrated Control and
Supervisory System) with TMS (Traffic Management System)
• Performs activities while ensuring that pre-established schedules are maintained for trial run
• Collecting related logs for analyzing if any failure occurs
• Co-ordinating with Traffic Officer to carry out the ER scheduled plan for movement of point machines and
setting the routes for safe operation
• Co-ordinates with ground staff for any movement inside Depot or Freight Facility and setting up the route
for safe operation
• Carrying out safety critical communication for any movement in mainline or depot or Freight Facilities via
radio and making sure all movement happens safely and under supervision
• Responding to critical faults for Thales CBTC Signalling Systems for overall Dubai Metro including legacy line
and EXPO route 2020 project.
• Rectifying and reporting to Managers and RTA officials for any KPI or revenue impacting faults and their reports.
• Performing preventive and corrective maintenance of CBTC (Thales SELTRAC S40 system) with ATS, VCC (ATP),
Interlocking System, On-Board Signalling system, Point machine and Inductive loops, Broad Band Radio System
(BBR).
• Maintaining safe system of operation for passengers in revenue hours and supervising planned corrective and
preventive maintenance tasks.
• Performing ATC Signaling Assets inspection including 2GVCC, 3GVCC, STC, PDIU on regular basis and report any
abnormality in ATC & System’s asset operation.
• Well understating of ATC external Interface and Handling interface Test of ATS(Automatic Train Supervision)
with PIDS/PAS, RADIO and Onboard System (VOBC).
• Investigation of faults occurring during revenue as well as engineering hours
• Supporting contractors for any critical faults and verifying the impact of their activity and deliver the safe system
of signaling asset for operation without any delay.
• Understating of Interface and Handling interfaces between Signaling System, Communications System, Automatic
Fare Collection, Power Distributions & Systems, Rolling Stocks and MEPS.
• Tracking and uploading of evidences for On-job Trainees via Competency Management System
• Preventive Maintenance & Corrective(Level 1-5) Maintenance Task on following system:
- Operation & Control System (Legacy & Virtual Server)
- Passenger Information/Addressing System
- Onboard Train System
- Fiber Optical Network
- Intrusion Alarm System
- Telephone and Emergency Call Button
• Level 1-5 Corrective Maintenance for the assets of Protocol Remote Terminal Unit (PRTU) and Energy Remote
Terminal Unit (ERTU) in Operation & Control System
• Responding and rectification of faults reported by Operation Control Centre for Communication/ Signalling
Systems of Thales.
• Performing daily pre-revenue test for Onboard Systems (OBS) of trains including ECB, BBR, PIS/PAS
from Train Controller OCS Workstations.
• Preventive and Corrective Maintenance of Virtual Machines in Virtual Server using VMware vSphere Web
Client by installing/repairing of Local and Central Operation & Control Systems Virtual Servers of Dubai Metro
Project
• Performing VMs regular Backup, Migration, vSphere High Availability Test (vHA), vSphere Distributed Load
Scheduler (vDRS) and vSphere Distributed Switches (vDS) for creating Fail Safe & Fail secure Environment for
operation of Virtual OCS Servers
• Experienced in performing IBM ESXi Host Server physical maintenance & repair
• Install, service and repair Communications System assets located in OCC SCER (Signalling & Communications
equipment room), Local stations SCER and at extra sites (Annex, EEPs, MPS & Car parks)
• Preparing the Investigation Report using Server Logs, System Logs and Server Reports for Operation & Control
System fault Rectification.
• Reporting Engineers /Managers for any critical fault in shift and rectifying the same causing minimum or no
impact on the operations
• Undertake site test & commissioning activities. Perform system functional tests and ensure that all interfaces
to the Communications system are appropriately tested according to the procedures. Register the test results.
Log analysis in case of any issues encountered.
• Testing/Validation of Fiber Optical Network using Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR)
