As an admitting doctor in the ICU, I was responsible for patient assessment, diagnosis and treatment planning necessary to stabilize and improve the patient's condition.
• I have successfully managed numerous trauma cases, both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. My ability to assess and prioritize critical injuries, perform life-saving interventions, and ensure seamless communication within the trauma team has led to positive patient outcomes.
• Obstetric Critical Care: Working closely with obstetric teams, I have provided specialized critical care to pregnant patients with complications. My expertise in managing conditions such as preeclampsia, placental abruption, and hemorrhage has contributed to safe deliveries and healthy outcomes for both mothers and infants especially during COVID 19
• Pulmonology: I have a solid foundation in managing acute and chronic respiratory conditions. From acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), I am skilled in ventilator management, bronchoscopy, and advanced pulmonary interventions
• I have successfully managed numerous trauma cases, both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. My ability to assess and prioritize critical injuries, perform life-saving interventions, and ensure seamless communication within the trauma team has led to positive patient outcomes.
• My experience in cardiac critical care encompasses the management of acute myocardial infarctions, congestive heart failure exacerbations, arrhythmias, and post-cardiac surgery patients. I am adept at interpreting complex cardiac monitoring data and tailoring treatment plans accordingly.
• I am trained in various medical procedures commonly required in the ICU like performing interventions such as intubation, central line placement, arterial line placement, and chest tube insertion, among others.
• I would also coordinate the care of critically ill patients by collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other specialists. I lead daily rounds and ensure effective communication among team members During rounds, I would closely monitor patients' vital signs, laboratory results, and other diagnostic data and interpret this information to assess the patient's progress, identify any complications, and make necessary adjustments to the treatment plan. I was also responsible for leading the immediate resuscitation efforts, as per BLS and ACLS guidelines, and make rapid decisions to stabilize the patient. I would regularly communicate with the patient's family members, explaining the patient's condition, prognosis, and treatment options. I also offered support, answer questions, and involve the family in decision-making, ensuring they are informed and engaged throughout the process.
• I was also involved in research and academic activities; thus, I stay updated with the latest advancements in critical care medicine, contribute to medical literature, and participate in teaching and mentoring future intensivists.
