Provides operational Human Resource services in support of the values and strategic direction of
the University of Calgary in Qatar, Human Resources and the University of Calgary as an institu-
tion. Provides HR generalist support to the Senior HR Partner providing consistent support on a
wide range of HR functions which include Employee and Labour Relations, Workplace Wellness
(Disability Management), Talent Management (Attraction and Retention, Organizational Effec-
tiveness, Learning and Development) and Total Rewards (Compensation and Recognition, Work-
force Planning and Analytics) for all employee groups. Recommends regarding the development
of policies, processes and systems that would realize efficiencies and increase the level of the
support HR Services is able to provide.
Key Responsibilities-
Total Rewards:
• Effectively resolves questions and conflicts with pay and benefits through liaison with
HR and Payroll
• Advises managers and staff responsible for input and approval of time sheets on
collective agreement interpretation and accurate application of regulations.
• Review all components of pay and benefits program and assist in the process required to
ensure accurate and timely changes to staff pay and benefits, and associated records.

• Provides salary and employee category information for new local hire employees to the
finance department
• Advises managers with job profile review process and classifying according to the job re-
sponsibilities and accountabilities.
• Uses a variety of software applications to produce and prepare documents, reports and
presentations requested by senior management.
Employee Relations:
• Provides interpretation of agreements and policies with respects to terms and conditions
of employment to the managers and employees.
• Develops and implements internal processes used as general guidelines.
• Recommends changes to procedures based on HR best practice
• Advises and assists the managers and the employees with performance management
process and guidelines.

HR Data Management
• Develops and maintains extensive database used to assist information tracking of sup-
port staff positions using PeopleSoft system and other internal systems.
• Creates data warehouse to obtain HR related information.
Recruitment and On-Boarding Process:
• Advises and assists hiring manager in identifying required new positions, developing job
profiles new positions, and revision to existing profiles.
• Researches and places advertisements and job posting in appropriate to attract the most
qualified candidates.
• Screens applications, organizes selection committees, arranges and participates in inter-
views, advises hiring managers on sponsorship issues, salary and benefits, and conducts
reference checks.
• Prepares and coordinates documentation and scheduling required to support the support
staff recruitment and selection processes from initial preparation of documentation to
offer of employment ensuring Agreements and regulations are adhered to.
• Handles all aspects of on-boarding process, employee services and orientation of new
employees in line with University of Calgary in Qatar’s policy and procedure.
• Effectively tracks steps to ensure processes proceed in a timely manner and appropriate
paperwork is completed efficiently and accurately.
• Resolves onboarding issues or concerns with the highest level of customer service.

Coordinating and Scheduling
 Coordinate and schedule induction training, safety orientation and maintain orientation
manual which provide comprehensive introduction to the day-day operation of the com-
pany.
