Global procurement head handling yearly budget of Three ( 3 ) Billion Dhs Meydan Sobha Project which is inclusive of one billion Dhs procurement budget for the Hartland development project in Sobha group (Civil/MEP/CAPEX/OPEX/Facility Management).
Set up, implement and monitor procurement function, policy, procedures and strategy for the entire Group.

Achievements:

Created professional procurement team members. Develop and implemented procurement Strategy, policy & procedures to ensure consistent and high-quality value delivery.
Attained 164 Million AED in cost savings by talented negotiations, direct source procurement, alternate material sourcing and global procurement on Meydan Project Phase-1.
Conducted Supply Chain Management ensuring timely project delivery. Produced cost savings of the budgeted material cost of a minimum of 15-20 %.
Succeeded in finalising all materials and selection of capable sub-contractors of civil, MEP, CAPEX and OPEX on time as per project schedule for Phase-1 in readiness for handing over the luxury villas to customers on time.
Achieved a minimum of 20% in cost savings through direct sourcing of marble, white goods, switches, fixtures and fittings, as well as, roofing materials, VRF air units, home automation and solar heaters from international, global manufacturers.
Negotiate Contracts as per FIDIC, review & resolve any discrepancies with supplier, claims and conflicts if any, material NCR and quality issues if any in a successful manner.
Direct the process to provide high quality, efficient and cost effective products and services. Establishment and adherence to a streamlined method for standardizing and monitoring material / services selection utilisation and costs.
Developed over 100 relationships with premium suppliers and sub-contractors, improved supply chain management locally and internationally.
Created entire Group’s procurement function, policies, procedures and strategy in line with international standards.
Key part in the finalisation and delivery of all materials on time allowing for a successful project handover.

Convrgnt Value Engineering is a leading Multinational Civil and MEP construction group with projects across Dubai, Oman and Tanzania. The company specialised in executing multi-million dollar projects relating to construction of high-rise buildings, villas and specialist projects in Civil and MEP functions. Reported to company Managing Director and owner.

Successfully developed a professional, dedicated, procurement team that achieved outstanding results throughout the entire project. Led and managed a team of 7 professional buyers including 2 deputy managers in Dubai head office, 2 executives in Oman and 2 procurement officers in Tanzania
Created Requests for Quotations (RFQs) and reviewed tender bids during tender finalization. Negotiated and entered into pre-bid agreement with specialist contractors for critical materials. Designed and implemented import sourcing strategies and placed direct bulk orders with principles as per project schedule to optimise time, cost and efficiency.
Enabled timely order placement, delivery schedules, supply / demand alignment, material replenishment and supplier / sub-contractor performance. Reviewed and monitored the project planning material schedule reports daily and advised on action plans to achieve project delivery schedule targets.
Monitored and reviewed the selection of sub-contractors, negotiated prices and other commercial terms like, full compliance to meet specifications / drawing, material submittal time, delivery schedule, liquidated damages, warranty, perf bond, retention up to DLP and TOC, etc. Resolved disputes and claims with any supplier / sub-contractors amicably.
Monitored the report of current and forward delivery material schedules daily. Advised on action plans including order cancellation. Processed new orders, anticipated potential causes of delays, ensured prompt delivery of goods.
Directed negotiation of major high value materials and guided the team in following various negotiation strategies to achieve the maximum cost savings.
Assisted projects in securing alternative material submissions approval from the client / consultant to achieve further cost savings. Held weekly meetings with project head along with their site execution team and planning manager to review project progress, material schedules and initiate action plans.
Continuously monitored, evaluated and improved supplier performance in the projects. Developed supplier / sub-contractor relationships for better co-ordination and control at site with project team. Reviewed performance of procurement staff regularly, understood and resolved practical issues, and guided progress in line with company development process. Efficiently delegated responsibility to team members and monitored their progress and performance.
