Supervision duties:
As a HVAC specialist in KCC Hospital project (Kuwait Cancer Center)
• Conducted comprehensive reviews and approvals of HVAC and BMS Designs.
• Reviewing and approving Material Technical Submittal and shop drawings.
• Inspecting mechanical material delivered on-site.
• Supervising, inspecting, and ensuring that HVAC activities are conducted per approved shop drawings, approved material, and project specifications.
• Enforce compliance with industry standards and regulations, including the Project Functional Space program (PSFP), Project Health Care Planning, ASHRAE Standards; HVAC Design Manual for Hospitals and Clinics 2013, 170-2021, 62.1- 2016, 12-2000, 15-2019 and 90.1-2016.
Design responsibilities
As a Lead Mechanical Engineer with CEC, Certified Engineering Consultancy
• Directing and managing all design stages, ensuring alignment with client needs from Concept Design to project handover, and monitoring HVAC, Firefighting and Plumbing stages to ensure seamless project completion.
• Spearheaded continuous improvement initiatives by developing and updating standard specifications for various project types. Ensuring alignment with the latest applied technology, market availability, and adherence to the latest CSI format.
• Actively contributing to the expansion of services by introducing new engineering solutions. Focused on enhancing team proficiency in areas such as Building Information Modelling (BIM), Piping Stress Analysis, and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
• Enforcing strict compliance with industry standards and regulations, including ASHRAE, NFPA, ASPE, IPC, ASME, ANSI, AMCA, and other relevant codes and standards.
• Initiate KPIs for the team and consistently follow up on their performance, making necessary modifications for continuous improvement.
• Design and Supervision of all HVAC, Firefighting, and Plumbing systems for various applications (high-rise buildings, healthcare facilities, hotels, malls, residential, etc.) using common codes and Standards such as ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, IPC, ASME, ANSI, AMCA, etc.
• Design duties
o Preparation of concept design reports and schematic drawings.
o Preparation of detailed calculations and drawings.
o Follow up with draftsmen in implementing drawings.
o Preparing Schedules for Equipment
o Preparation of detailed Technical Specifications and Bills of Quantities.
• Supervision duties
o Reviewing and approving shop drawings related to various mechanical systems.
o Revise the Material Technical Submittal.
o Inspecting mechanical material delivered on-site.
o Supervising, inspecting, and ensuring that all HVAC - Fire Fighting - Plumbing site activities are conducted following approved shop drawings, approved material, project specifications, codes, and standards.
o Review the contractors Work Progress.
o Attending coordination meetings.
o Coordination between other disciplines on site.
o Supervise the third-party company for testing, commissioning, adjusting, and balancing of HVAC system as per applicable Standards.
Responsible for mechanical engineering projects related to the modernization and expansion of existing manufacturing facilities and the construction of new domestic and foreign facilities. Among the projects are supervising all HVAC, Firefighting, and Plumbing systems for Commercial and Residential buildings. Steam turbine, Central cooling tower, Industrial water tube boiler, and overhead crane for the power plant.
