• Review and manage the proposed exceptions, deviations, and substitutions, and the design submittal schedule.
• Attend design workshops and meetings with clients.
• Identify any potential or actual delays to the design and/or other schedules and take all necessary action.
• Manage civil structure works according to international standards, and the design review process with client representative.
• Check the technical review process for design deliverables to ensure that there are no significant issues, the design is properly coordinated, and in compliance with client standards and procedures.
• Coordinate and review of all structural Shop Drawings.
• Lead the design review process, review for constructability, ensure compliance with all conditions of approval.
• Facilitate the interface and relationships between designers and the rest of project delivery team.
• Assure that design files are in accordance with client requirements and the applicable document control procedures.
• Conduct structural analysis and design calculations for various types of structures using appropriate engineering software and codes.
• Prepare and review structural design drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Supervise construction activities to ensure compliance with approved structural design plans, specifications, and applicable codes and regulations.
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks to verify that the construction work meets the required standards and specifications.
• Assist in the preparation of tender documents, including technical specifications, scope of work, and cost estimates for structural components.
• Participate in the evaluation of bids and proposals from contractors, providing technical input and recommendations.
• Collaborate with architects, other engineers, and stakeholders to ensure structural design requirements are met while considering architectural and functional aspects of the project.
• Perform calculations and simulations to assess the structural integrity, stability, and performance of the proposed design.
• Provide technical guidance and support to the construction team regarding structural elements, construction methods, and material specifications.
• Prepare and review project schedules, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to timelines.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and stakeholders, such as architects, electrical and mechanical engineers, and project managers, to ensure proper integration of structural design with other building systems
• Select and specify appropriate construction materials, considering factors such as load-bearing capacity, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Review and evaluate alternative structural design solutions and provide recommendations based on technical and economic considerations.
• Collaborate with contractors, site engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve any construction issues or deviations from the design.
• Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and other construction-related documents to ensure compliance with the design.
• Maintain accurate and organized project documentation, including design records, correspondence, and reports.
• Keep up-to-date with the latest industry standards, codes, and regulations related to structural design and construction.
