InfoDom is a privately-owned IT company mainly focused on the public sector. Here I had an opportunity to work within Waterfall methodology. I was simultaneously involved in two complex projects. One referred to software development within food safety domain with extensive industry research activities. The other focused on the enhancement and upgrade of the existing system with the purpose of creating a generic solution for government inspections.
I was responsible for:
• Moderating meetings with customers and gathering requirements
• Creating specifications for developers with a good portion of diagramming (flowcharts) and wireframing
• Website creation and administration with digital marketing activities
• Giving training on specific topics to other colleagues
• Participating in company strategic meetings
Thanks to my newly gained process modeling and wireframing skills implemented across project documentation, development time was reduced by 30%.
CROZ is a medium-sized IT company that offers turn-key projects or professional services including education, consulting and implementation of the technology. This is where I started my journey as a business analyst, while still pursuing the Master’s degree. I got to work on innovative projects - eLearning and Idea/Innovation/Knowledge Management solutions development for implementation in the business environment. Here I’ve discovered the Scum framework thanks to the fact that all the projects had it applied. I also had an opportunity to see Design Thinking in practice. Besides juggling between clients and developers, as a value of working in CROZ I see a strong departmental (BA) collaboration and educational possibilities for improving skills and knowledge required in this field of IT and working with different profiles.
Among my duties and skills gained I would point out:
• Engage client to gather software requirements/business rules, and ensure alignment with development teams while drafting functional and technical documentation (use cases, user stories, change requests, release notes) for custom-made solutions
• Manual testing and UX/functionality improvements for new versions
• Liaise between business, technology, and support teams
• Manage projects through status meetings and tracking issues
• Designed various content for both the solutions and official websites, with SEO, Analytics and social media responsibilities
• Pre-sales and demo presentations to clients
What was highly appreciated by CROZ was my vigor, enthusiasm, and passion that very often won over clients when attending meetings with sales team presenting the in-house built solution, resulting in one new PoC approximately every other month.
