SOW : Fire Safety Façade | Passive Fire stopping Inspection
Career Summary:
Currently working as Safety Inspector for Profire Safety Consultants. And, experience in the fire
and life safety perspectives of the external façade, Roofing and fire stopping (Through
penetrations, membrane penetration, Fire resistive joint system and Perimeter fire barrier
systems) systems for the last 1 and 1/2 years. Review/suggest the external façade systems
drawings/material submittals such as; Aluminum composite panel cladding (ACP), Curtain wall
system (CW), Solid Aluminium cladding (SA), Glass Reinforced Concrete cladding (GRC),
Sandwich panels (SW), reconstitute/natural stone claddings, Precast panels and Exterior
insulation finishing system (EIFS) as per the requirements of Local Authorities Regulation and
relevant CODE standards (i.e. - UAE fire and Life safety code, NFPA, ASTM, EN). Preparing the
external façade engineering assessment report to Civil defence submission to obtain the façade
system approval. Scrutinizing the external façade systems and fire stopping system as per the
requirements of - NFPA 285 assembly, ASTM E 2174, ASTM E 2393 and Manufacturers
instruction.
RESPONSIBILITY
• Review the drawings of exterior façade wall assembly system.
• Re-view the perimeter joints and exterior facade / curtain walls fire stop system proposed
and used at site to restrict the interior vertical passage of flame and hot gases / smoke

from one floor to another at the location where the floor intersects the inside of an
exterior curtain wall assembly;
• Review the fire stop system assembly proposed and used at site at the location of
perimeter gap between fire rated floor assembly and non-fire rated wall assembly;
• Re-view the test certificates and test reports of the proposed exterior façade / curtain wall
assembly / Glazing materials;
• Prepare an engineering assessment report for the exterior façade / curtain wall assembly
system based on the field condition; and getting approval from concerned Civil Defence.
• Provide comments and recommendations if any modifications to be done on the drawings
for the proposed exterior façade / curtain wall system assembly;
• Review and third-party certification of the design drawings of exterior façade / curtain wall
assembly system proposed for the building;
• Review and identify the material submittals of the exterior façade / curtain wall assembly
system proposed for the building based on the AHJ regulations and UAE Fire & Life safety
code practice;
• Provide comments and recommendations if any changes to be done in the façade
materials for the proposed exterior façade / curtain wall system assembly.
