Registered Nurse in Apheresis Platelets and Plasma

I am currently Employed at the South African National Blood Services as a Registered Nurse in the Apheresis Platelets and Plasma Clinic.
My job entails setting up of the Haemonetics or Viking machines for the required procedure, performing of the venepuncture on my donors and monitoring of the donor pre, post and during the procedure. Education of the donors regarding Lifestyle and diet is also my key responsibility.
I am currently employed at the South African National Blood Services as a Registered Nurse in the Apheresis Plasma and Platelet Clinic for the past three years.
Prior to my current job i worked for five years as a Phlebotomist trained in adult and child Phlebotomy at one of our private Laboratories in South Africa.
During my four years of General Nursing Training i trained in the differnt wards in the hospital and am therefore trained in Medical and Surgical Nursing as well as Gynecology, Paediatric and Orthopedic Nursing.
Registered Nurse
I completed my 4 years General Nursing as a Registered Nurse at Net-care Training Academy in South Africa where i gained experience in all fields of nursing namely Medical nursing, Surgical Nursing, Orthopedic Nursing, Paediatric Nursing and Gynacology. I then ventured out of the hospital and took up the post as a Phlebotomist at a Local Private Laboratory where i worked for five years hereby gaining knowledge and insight in Adult and Paediatric Phlebotomy. I am currently employed at the South African National Blood Services as a Registered Nurse for the past three years in the Apheresis Clinic. Here we specialize in Plasmapheresis and Platelet pheresis.
