• Responsible for the implementation and evolution of the Configuration Management processes, in line with CMII, as
demanded by the System Integration Engineer (SIE) contract, for the largest Border Security project being carried out in the world to date.
• Lead on configuration management and planning, configuration identification, change control and status accounting.
• Expertly managed customer changes relating to affected domains, ensuring that the related Contract Data Requirements
List (CDRL) change status was maintained and issued to the customer.
• Responsible for implementing and managing the SIE Project Change Control Board (CCB) and its regular conduct.
• Accountable for all configuration management related topics with the Ministry of the Interior and the Border Guard.
• Responsible for a configuration management budget of €8M.
• Responsible for multi-national working and utilising bilingual ability (English and German).
• Responsible for ensuring all key bids complied with the assigned bid management governance processes.
• Ensured all bids were of high quality, compelling, risk mitigated and competitive, whilst also being customer orientated and following any bid management rules, including templates and modules.
• Dedicated to continuous Bid Centre improvement relating to quality, timely delivery, and ensuring all bids were prepared
within budget and with an efficient use of resources.
• Introduced and established the first corporate Bid Centre outside of Europe, to grow and deliver proposals for future bids to be more achievable, measurable and delivered on time in KSA.
• Recruited and managed the Bid Centre Team and co-ordinated the interface with the Sales, Finance and Procurement teams internally and externally.
• Prepared, planned and implemented a bid preparation process that complied with internal milestones.
• Created, maintained and monitored Level 2 and 3 schedules for the Border Guard Development Project domain leads on a Work Package level.
• Provided critical analysis with regular reporting of key project milestones.
• Provided Thales telecommunications services across Afghanistan ensuring that the NATO International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) agreed support contract was maintained.
• Liaised directly with the General Staff of NATO, and the resident Army Field Officer and his staff.
• Completed operations and maintenance on an array of technologies spanning Alcatel PABX and Microwave Radio, ATM Switches, Cisco Routers, MOXA, Eaton UPS, Danline ACUs, 2H Energy 40 & 65kW Generators, Fibre Optics, Cat 5, 5e & 6 and SATCOM.
• Maintained the WelComE Services VSAT Ground Terminals and all associated equipment in theatre of operations.
• Provided Voice and Data links to the UK and remote sites in theatre of operations for British Military personnel.
• Working as Regional Director Eastern Region to ensure that a sufficiently skilled and experienced workforce was available at all times to deliver contractual requirements.
• Implemented regional business strategy as part of the management team and managed allocated budget ensuring that the deliverables were achieved on time and within budget.
• Effectively managed a multinational team of 81 staff.
• Appointed as the NOC Manager Eastern Region responsible for the integrity and day to day management of the SANGCOM Network utilizing the Element Management Systems in the NOC's and their staff.
• Held a variety of positions within GPT including Regional Training Co-ordinator and DBS Technical Instructor.
