Zamil Industrial-ZI (formally known as Zamil Industrial Investment Company- ZIIC) is owned by a large number of shareholders and has about 10, 000 employees worldwide of which 6750 employees are based in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
It consists of six Companies. These are: Zamil Air conditioners, Zamil Steel Industries, Zamil Glass Industries, Zamil CoolCare, Arabian Fibreglass Insulation Company and RANCO. It is a well-known company in the region for designing and manufacturing of Air conditioning Systems (including large industrial chillers and split units) as well as Structural Steel for very large international projects. The employees have come from different parts of the world with different technical and social background.
Main Duties and Responsibilities include:
• Developing the Training Centre to cater for the needs of the six companies that form ZI.
• Preparing annual manning, fixed assets and operation budget for the Training Centre
• Developing curriculum and training materials for various programmes.
• Managing the centre that has different laboratories, workshops and classrooms in addition to trainers from different parts of the world.
• Developing a new Industrial Training Institute (Zamil Industrial Training Institute) to become an internationally recognised Vocational Training Institute and to provide training services for many companies in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. I have started the project from scratch (selecting a suitable plot of land) and coordinated with various parties including signing an Agreement with the UK-based Grimsby Institute of Further and Higher Education to provide various services including accreditation of the training programmes and the Institute so that Edexcel-type Diplomas are conducted at the Institute.
• Developing specific technical and non-technical training programmes for the employees of the company.
• Developing specifications for the required training equipment, laboratories and workshops, and contributing towards selecting the most suitable suppliers.
• Developing Policies and Procedures for Training Delivery and Assessment.
• Recruiting qualified and experienced trainers for the training centre.
• Developing the Training Centre to become a high standard profit-oriented training provider in order to cater for the needs of other private companies.
• Organising, Developing and Conducting training programmes in various fields of work and at different competency levels.
