The application development & innovation manager’s job is to map out, coordinate, and oversee the activities for the design, development, and execution of a company’s database and information systems and software applications. also responsible for the maintenance, support, and upgrading of existing hardware and applications. apply communication and analytical skills and knowledge of best practices to navigate his team on problems related to the applications development.
Objective
The applications development manager performs work of considerable difficulty in planning, assigning
and directing computer applications program design, development and implementation.
Key achievements
* Plans, assigns and directs the activities of professional and technical personnel involved in the
design, development and systems analysis functions required to create new computer
applications programs or install and implement software purchased from outside vendors.
* Reviews and analyzes existing applications programs and programs in development to ensure
efficiency and effectiveness of those programs; reviews requests for program changes required
to meet needs of city departments required by the addition of new city programs and changes
in legislation.
* Conducts meetings with senior level city employees to determine data processing requirements
based on new project priorities, changes in legislation and system needs.
* Assigns and reviews the design layout for programs required for special projects.
* Provides technical assistance to city departments in the development of bid specifications for
special hardware or software systems required to implement new programs.
* Troubleshoots hardware and software failure for the Computer Aided Dispatch system to
determine causes for system failure and to implement solutions.
* Provides technical information and advice to city departments regarding network
interconnections and overall data processing master plans.
* Reviews performance of applications programs to ensure program efficiency, program
documentation, and to ensure that output meets the needs of user departments.
* Prepares regular reports for the director of management support showing functioning of the
system, status of program development and division needs.
* Provides technical information required in the preparation of annual budget figures for the
Applications Development Division, including needs for upgrading hardware and software and
resources needed to ensure timely response to needs of user departments.
* Serves as backup to the director of management support.
Looking for new technology ideas or concepts that can reserve and improve the school system.
* Develop and administrate school systems, Keeping databases up to date and managing
database access.
* Optimize and setup database systems for performance efficiency.
* Analyse and extract the required information throw creating complex database queries,
functions, scripts, stored procedures and triggers.
* Create the required reports to help in making decisions and reach to organization targets.
* Ensure data quality and integrity in databases.
* Identify any issues related to database performance and provide corrective measures.
* Perform data back-up and archival on regular basis.
* Test databases and perform bug fixes.
* Troubleshoot database related issues in a timely fashion.
* Develop security procedures to protect databases from unauthorized usage.
Create and build all report cards and transcripts for AISE schools.
* Create and design many reports serves school process and make the information available on time
for key persons.
* Implement notification systems for automated all routine tasks, such as (Students Daily Report,
Students Absence Letters, Medical Incident Notification, Late Buses Notifications, Student disciple
Incident notification, Teacher missing attendance notification, etc. )
* Integration between student management system and library system.
* Integration between student management system and learning management system.
* Implement Dashboard for our leadership teams
