Translator for Arabic English at the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research. My duties include translation of
books, reports, news, research papers, and academic studies.
Translator for Arabic - English at the UAE Armed Forces G.H.Q. mainly responsible to
translate all military & System Approach to training (SAT) related documents such as
(Course Training Plans, Employment Volumes) used in the UAE Armed Forces.
Duties:
Translate all required documents from English to Arabic and vice versa (Official
letters, executive reports, training handouts, equipment manuals and presentations,
general product information) ensuring that the meaning of the source text is retained
Check content, semantic and syntax of all Arabic documents to ensure consistency
of translation within documents.
Using dictionaries, thesauruses and reference books to find the closest equivalents
for words to be translated.
Liaising with stakeholders to discuss any unclear points
Proofreading and editing final translated versions
Providing stakeholders with a grammatically correct, well- expressed final version
of the translated text.
Applying various translation-quality standards.
