*Life Safety Analysis (occupant load calculations, egress calculations & analysis, RSET analysis) of an architectural layout based on NFPA, BS and local building codes.
*Design of Smoke control, Staircase Pressurization, Lift Lobby and Floor Pressurization based on ASHRAE and NFPA Standards.
*Design of Basement ventilation systems including Impulse ventilation and traditional SHEVS(Smoke and Heat Extraction Ventilation System) using BS Standards.
*Perform CFD analysis on ventilation systems of basement and shopping complexes to determine the location of jetfans, supply air or smoke extraction points using Pyrosim/FDS (Including modeling of the 3D model in Revit and calculation of Required Safe Escape Time (RSET) for occupants).
*Perform hydraulic calculations to determine and modify the characteristics of the design of the systems.
*Create Fire fighting system, CFD analysis and system pressurization reports.
*Liaison with architects, contractors, suppliers and clients from the inception to completion of a
project.
*Create system and equipment schedules and verify engineering estimates and tender documents.
*Check equipment submittals and shop drawings to ensure the integrity of the design and project is upheld.

*Designed a bell housing and gearbox mounts for a touring car race team to mate the Honda K20A engine to a newly launched off the shelf Hewland race transmission.
*Optimized the bell housing to achieve lighter weight at a reduced production cost.
*Analyzed the strength of the shaft of an Emrax E-motor using FEA simulations which is planned to be used for the conversion of a conventional diesel powered truck into a hybrid truck.
*Suggested design and material changes for the E-motor shaft to handle the max rated powertrain loads based on FEA simulations.
*Communicated with the E-motor manufacturers to discuss the changes in the design of the motor resulting from the subsequent motor shaft design changes.

Summary: Designed an LSRS (axially and torsionally flexible steering shaft) for a state of the art steering system which provides safety to the driver due to the LSRS's axial and torsional flexibility and an improved handling performance. *Carried out extensive research related to steering systems, flexible shafts, wire ropes, torsion tests and its standard procedures. *Devised a structure of the LSRS in order to have axial and torsional flexibility and equal torsional stiffness in clockwise and anti-clockwise direction. *Produced 3D CAD models, assemblies and detail drawings throughout the length of the project. *Performed FEA structural simulations on various LSRS models in order to investigate the effect of changing wire rope properties on the torsional behavior of the LSRS. *Designed 2 different experimental setup machines to validate the simulation results. *Liaised with technicians and fabricators to manufacture the designed machines. *Validated the simulation results by performing experiments and mathematical analysis.
