Grupo Prisa is the most influential news and entertainment group in Spanish language worldwide. Is formed by many businesses, from newspapers like EL PAÍS like radio stations like Cadena SER. In this last one is where I am currently developing. I report to the regional head of content and regional CEO, both based in Barcelona.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

-Manage a content team formed by 7 journalists, 5 commercial executives and 2 admin. Liaison with the rest of the company for content and organization policy.
-Editorial management, news editing, content producing.
-Events planning and events organization.
-Define social media communication strategy
-Searching constantly for good stories that can match with the audience interests.

MAIN ACHIEVEMENTS

-Contribute to gain audience and followers in social media channels.
-Re-organized working routines, being now more effective.
-Define and lead the strategic communication plan.

Head of Communication at Ascó City Council

Ascó is a small town holding two nuclear power plants. As the Spanish government launched a public tender to find a location to place their high activity nuclear waste facility and Ascó was the better placed candidate, my work was focused on this project. Reporting only to the mayor, who leaded the candidature.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

-Define and apply the strategic communication plan.
-Spokesman training. Speech writing.
-Media relations, national and international. Institutional relations. Press releases and press kits.
-Event planning and event organization.

MAIN ACHIEVEMENTS

-Ascó was the most mentioned candidate to hold the Spanish high activity nuclear waste facility in media.
-Major could explain calmly and deeply his project in the right economical and political forums despite the general opposition in the region.
-Main parties changed their initial position after some actions planned in the communication plan

My job consisted of finding stories in my region, Tarragona province, with approximately 800.000 inhabitants during the year but up to 3 millions in summertime, due to tourism industry. Main activities there are petrochemical industry, nuclear industry and tourism. Reporting to section heads, I wrote also political stories, for a global audience.
