Strategy Consulting- The six month long assignment involved revision of initial set of future growth and scale assumptions based on insights from revised market assessment, strategic direction, envisaged projects and discussions with client (a real estate developer). The assignment included preparation of specific and measurable strategic objectives the client would follow enabling it to realise its mission. This was followed by preparation of a 5 year business plan and monitoring KPIs clearly addressing the company’s board concerns.
Assistance in setting up Facility Management Business- Executed an onsite feasibility study for setting up a Facility Management division for the client in Saudi Arabia. The study involved assessing the probable offerings of the company and resource requirements embedded in a complete three year business plan, followed by financial evaluation. The business is already in the implementation phase.
Corporate Advisory- Served a real estate client in Saudi Arabia, by conducting financial due diligence on the progress of their existing development portfolio. Also visited client location in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to evaluate and prepare a fresh business proposal for target contractors. The work also involves assessment of various investment structures for fresh projects, which would generate best returns for all stakeholders. The exercise involves preparation of business models and investor presentations meant for internal assessment as well as business development purposes.
Capital Optimization for an Investment Holding Company- Undertook capital restructuring exercise for an investment holding firm with a portfolio of seven companies. The objective was to analyze and deduce a pathway to optimal debt-equity mix at subsidiary level in order to minimize parent firm’s cost of capital, thereby maximizing its value. The assignment involved implementation of complex conceptual concepts and extending it to derive an algorithm which would govern the firm’s capital allocation decisions in the coming years.

Feasibility Studies- Independently executed numerous feasibility assignments for prospective developments in the sectors of Healthcare, Tourism, Real Estate and Hospitality. Each study comprises of a market research report which helps in evaluating demand and in finding assumptions for further development of financial model. Lastly, a comprehensive feasibility report is structured underlining results of the study.
Investment Banking Support- Independently prepared an investment teaser on behalf of a struggling Kuwaiti airline company. The study highlighted the transition of GCC airline market pre and post operations of the prospective airline along with an overall assessment of GCC and nearby market. An internal due diligence for the client was also conducted during this assignment.
Macro Economic Briefs- This monthly brief required short listing, capturing and summarizing all the major macro-economic events appeared in the latest month pertaining to GCC region. An additional analytical piece was also covered, detailing any major Global event, for instance fed announcement of withdrawing its bond buying stimulus. The project has helped in enhancing my writing skills and knowledge.
Equity Research- Served a buy side client by conducting financial due diligence of the covered entity, extracting key concern areas and finally coming up with a suggestion with respect to client’s holding position on the firm. The exercise involves thorough financial analysis, operations and segmental analysis, patient reading and effective writing.
Private Equity- Assisted a Private Equity client by identifying potential buy/sell target entities on the basis of relevant screening parameters. Also prepared Pitchbooks and conducted niche market studies to help clients with useful reports.
VBA Macro Library- Actively involved in building excel based VBA macro library with the objective to avoid redundant spreadsheet exercises, and generate presentable and uniform deliverables. The library once developed will be shared will all the peers in the organization.
Internal Business Development Research- Prepared a research report on a relatively niche investment instrument ‘SPAC’ Special Purpose Acquisition Vehicles, analyzing its emergence and performance. Finally, investigating and presenting the investment rationale of the instrument at different possible time phases. The research article has been selected to be published in the in-house developed circular, which is distributed globally to the existing and potential clients.

Masters in Business Administration (MBA) Details of Summer Internship are below: 1) Fundamental Valuation Model of JSW steel using FCFF model at Sharekhan Ltd • Objective of the project was to derive share price of JSW steel with the aid of fundamental study and financial modelling of FCFF method. • Revenue model, cost model and expenditure model were projected by complete analysis of Annual report of JSW steel and market risk parameters. • The project was selected amongst the top five in the batch of 180 students and was awarded at the convocation ceremony.
