The UNOPS ICT Unit become part of the Finance Group within UNOPS and is responsible for architecting, designing, delivering, and managing all UNOPS ICT infrastructure and business applications, undergoing a transformation from being a service provider to becoming a strategic business partner.

Responsibilities:
 Analyzes UNOPS business processes and systems with a view to designing and developing reporting and analytics applications / functionality
 Designs and implements reporting and analytics functionality within UNOPS business applications or within UNOPS reporting platform(s)

Team member in UNOPS ICT Enterprise Reporting Team which is a unit responsible for the development, delivery and maintenance of organization-wide reporting information for internal use, external partner use and for public use. The team’s flagship product, the Workspace, is a platform for internal use integrated with ATLAS that incorporates information from all UNOPS practices and all data sources within UNOPS and presents the information using rich visualizations designed to aid understanding and action.
In Jan 2016 the organization replaced ATLAS with Unit4 Agresso, I was involved in the requirements gathering and reports and dashboards development in Finance, Procurement, Engagement/Project Management, Human Resource and Payroll, in addition to handling security and administration tasks related to Agresso.

Responsibilities:
 Implement Store Procedures, Functions and Views using SQL Server Transact-SQL
 Support the data warehouse ETL process

 Participate in design reviews of solutions with structured and unstructured data covering data integration, data flow, data warehouse, and business intelligence.
 Conduct interviews with application stakeholders, facilitate data-modelling sessions, write
business and technical requirements, and apply standards and best practices.
 Manage business and product owner relationships and enable their understanding and appreciation of technical possibilities and constraints.
 Analyze existing databases and identify opportunities for data consolidation and design improvement.
 Take responsibility for overall integrity, quality, accessibility and accuracy of information across multiple reporting applications.

As a team member in the Department of Planning in Head Quarters-Amman, I’m the technical lead responsible for the Results-based Monitoring system which is a data warehouse solution facilitates the data collection process per log frame including Head Quarters and Fields Implementation plans for all Departments/Programmes at the agency wide level, with a set of predefined reports with ad-hoc reporting tool containing programmatic information across all programmes and is integrated with financial and human resources information. It is based on Microsoft SQL technology and designed using data warehousing programming methodology.

The RBM also comes with a tool to improve project management cycle for all active projects across the Agency, this functionality permitted identified focal points to monthly assess the expenditure rate and implementation progress of projects using a the same assessment technique used for indicators. The system, in collaboration with External Relations and Communications Department, was also updated with grant agreement data along with key reporting dates so that managers could easily access reporting dates for projects and the key documentation for those grants was also uploaded.

Also “Action Tracking” mechanism is lately presented in the RBM to assist in quarterly follow-up of agreed actions pertaining to a wide range of areas such as risk mitigation implementation, agreed evaluation recommendation and audit findings like JIU and UNBOA, respectively.

Responsibilities:
- Leading the Project Technical Resource Team of the RBM (Results Based Monitoring) Initiative to direct the development and provide technical operational support of the established, intranet-based, management portal.
- Working with technical specialties from ISD, ERP and programmatic areas lead the design and implementation and documentation of UNRWA data warehouse that is used for management reporting such as strategic plans, financial, human resource and project reporting.
- Designing and building web-based applications and the associated databases(s)/data warehouse(s)/datamart(s)/cubes/ETL(s) for capturing data using data capture sheet related to certain programmatic monthly reporting.
- Developing business reports and dashboards extracting and transforming data from the RBM system, an UNRWA data repository, using SQL server and associated BI tools.
- Working with external experts such as Microsoft Consulting Services and other non-technical specialties to ensure compliance with UNRWA's application development standards and management information needs.
- Facilitating the fine-tuning of the portal and associated contents as required.
