I worked on a project for developing a web cache appliance based on open source.
Successfully managed 30 projects. These were diverse types of projects, from applications like BPM and CRM to value added services, integration with DSPs, network management, caching, anti spam, hotspots, DSL CPEs.
I have used to technically study the subject of the project in depth in order to identify limitations and risks of the project and to make a full benefit of the result product and to effectively utilize the resources.
Below are some projects:
Cache farm:
-Implemented a cache farm where I have exceeded by far the worldwide records on throughput and hit rate.
CRM:
- Recommended using MS CRM.
- Performed business analysis after studying CRM books and issued an RFP.
- Negotiated prices, scope of work and schedule with suppliers.
Business Process Management:
-Recommended using BPM and implemented the first BPM in Lebanon.
-Defined the requirements, chosen the product and supplier.
-Mapped, designed and optimized the business processes.
-Managed the implementation and trained internal staff on using the system.
-Successfully managed the users’ resistance to change that is normally faced in such projects.
DSL Service:
- Developed the full picture for launching, selling and supporting the DSL service.
- Evaluated the OSS/BSS software required for operating the DSL service with local and international companies.
- Choose Thomson for DSL modems and filters. These DSL modems were used by most ISPs in Lebanon.
- Managed the testing and implementation.
- Placed orders and followed the shipment of modems.
- Put rules for prepaid DSL product and managed the implementation.
Pesco, Mobi and wigo broadband services:
-Managed the integration with the supplier, management technical, sales, marketing, support and billing departments.
Email anitspam/antivirus for inbound and outbound traffic:
-Successfully selected and implemented the first appliance of Barracuda in the Middle East at a fraction of the budgeted price.
-Pre and post sales support of HP OpenView products.
- Product manager for HP Procurve switches.
- Help sales in configuring HP Business Critical Servers.
- Evaluation of new products like network support manager, Email and web services on Red Hat Linux.
- Pre sales support, installation and support for operating systems, network infrastructure and LAN telephoney.
- Support for the managed services customers.
-System support for UNIX, Microsoft products and OS2.
-Installation support of LAN and WAN networks based on Cisco, Intel and 3com.
- Hardware support for ICL machines including servers, ATM machines, retail equipment and PCs.
- I was fully in charge of the technical section for the UAE. Respnosible for engineers, maintenance contracts, spares and paper work.
- System support for UNIX, AOS/VS, VOS, RDOS, DOS and Novell.
- Hardware and system support for Stratus and Data General mini computers.
- Hardware Support for Data General computers.
- Repair of computers and peripherals to board level.
- Development in hardware and firmware of computers.
- suppervise and support technicians in case of major problems.
- Repair of personal computers and peripherals to chip level.
- support for DOS, and Pick multi-user operating system.
