My day-to-day role involved developing messaging, managing and implementing PR and strategic communications programs including public education and launch campaigns for clients in a local, regional and international capacity.

Managing Editor at The Peninsula
  • Qatar - Doha
  • August 2007 to February 2009

I was hired by Dar Al Sharq Media House to head up and oversee the redesign and re-launch of the company’s flagship daily English newspaper. This was a high profile position, being the only female newspaper editor in the GCC at the time. With more than 40 staff from diverse backgrounds answering to me, I was responsible for the daily news agenda, the look of the newspaper and the tone. I commissioned a complete overhaul of the product - from editorial content and processes through to copy flow, design, integration and staff recruitment. My role expanded into creating and negotiating new business opportunities for the company including partnerships with The Financial Times, The New York Times, The Times and French and Tagalog language publications.
