1) Design section 5/2013-3/2014
Full design of huge district cooling plants of different types of capacities (20, 000 to 90, 000 TR), design duties include but not limited to:
i) General engineering calculations and drawings.
ii) Design and selection of pipes and pipeline networks for different types of GRP and carbon steel pipes of different grades (standard, schedules, extra strong…).
iii) Detailed pumps design and selection of all types, pressure drop, flow rate and power calculations for primary, secondary, condenser, chemical treatment, fire fighting and all other types of pumps.
iv) Design, selection, plotting and maintenance of huge water chillers, wide knowledge of all market types, capacities, specifications and prices.
v) Design, selection and calculation of cooling towers field erected and modular types, with isometric chart calculations for best using of space to dissipate water heat per less size. Using high developed software and electronic technology to boost water cooling process for best cooling tower and plant efficiency.
vi) Design, selection and plotting of water filtration system (RO plant) for both process and condenser water networks.
vii) Design and calculations of huge water tanks, including thermal energy storage tanks, make up and blow down water tanks, also smaller tanks such as domestic, fire fighting and others.
viii) Design and calculations of full fire fighting systems, including fire fighting active and stand by pumps, jockey pumps, sprinklers of standard and high density types, FM-200 systems, fire suppression in closed and electrical areas, and other design knowledge in fire fighting lay-out plotting techniques.
ix) Good knowledge in civil, construction and electrical design fields.
x) Other design knowledge including design of beams, stress analysis, supports, hydraulics, valves and fittings, electrical panels, electrical cables and transformers, control systems…
Supervision and control of work and equipment
i) Manpower scheduling and dividing work suitably.
ii) Preparing materials purchasing orders.
iii) Material requests, BOQ’s, bills, suppliers contacting and dealing, supervision of workshops, stores and materials, general controlling and supervision of safety regulations.
iv) Getting all types of building certificates approvals from authorities through communication with ADWEA, ADDC, ADSSC and ADCD.
v) Communicating with developers and arranging work/appointments with different clients to ensure perfect work coordination.
vi) Installation and commissioning of equipments such as chillers and pumps and all related DCP equipments.
Preparing project’s submittal form for bidding stage (technical and economical)
i) Good estimation of project’s overall primarily designs cost.
ii) Contacting and dealing with all types of suppliers (equipment, services, heavy machines, concrete, steel and plastic materials).
iii) Handling deals and meetings.
iv) Managed to save huge amount of cost for company.
v) Contributed mainly to the award of Qatar Cool West Bay DCP project and partially to many other projects.
vi) Dealing with major international clients in the scope of construction and cooling engineering.
Designed, implemented and performed full engineering studies and huge piping network installations for agricultural irrigation systems for multi kinds of agricultural areas.
i) Design of whole irrigation network including huge pumps of submersible, suction and centrifugal types, irrigation tanks, stainless steel and PE pipes sizing and arrangement, valves, fittings, mixers, agricultural chemicals…for sprinklers and drip-line systems.
ii) Design of side roll and circular agricultural irrigation systems for extra-large fields including water spraying beams and diesel engines.
iii) Wide knowledge of water requirements for many types of agricultural areas depending on type of plants and soil.
iv) Design of software controlling the automated irrigation process.
v) Supervision and controlling the process of network installation on site (field).
vi) Managed to save huge cost (about 200, 000 USD yearly) by reducing water consumption for irrigation.
