Power control panel operator: The control room of the refinery power station consists of the Voltage, Mega Watt, Mega VAR, Cos ϕ, and Ampere Meters. For one diesel Generator with max rating (2.4MW), Two Steam with max rating (6 MW each), All these generator are connected in parallel with two lines from National Jordanian Electrical Grid ( rating 18MW for each ) .The duties of position is to maintain the stability of electricity . Write the reading on the sheets, and perform the calculations for the generated power and the imported power. Starting and stopping any one generators and synchronizing it with refinery grid is of the operator duties.
Substation installation and maintenance electrician: In the refinery there are 9 substations the fed with 10-KV from the refinery grid. Step-down transformers in substation used to generate 3-KV and 380-V to feed the refinery units and the 3-KV and 380-V pumps and compressors. I was a member in the substation installation group. The pumps and compressors of the units were connected to the substation direct on line or through autotransformer using underground high power PVC cable (this my duty). Now I’m member in maintenance group, the group includes perfuming a maintenance procedure for oil circuit breaker (OCB), testing connectivity and changing the oil of (OCB). Disconnecting the 3-KV motor and perform maintenance procedure which include changing rear and front bearing, greasing and noting the running hours monthly. Fault detection by reading the protection and alarm circuit single line diagram for 10-KV, 3-KV, and 380-V substations.
