Key responsibilities
•Execute testing of jobs and interpret results for reporting
•Internal calibration and checks of instruments and test equipment including NDT
•Preparation of test certificates
•Microstructural testing and sample preparation
•Metallography / Microstructure and problem solving in metallurgical issues
•Monitoring of standards and specifications to ensure current validity
•Ensure that the work area complies with all statutory regulation codes and practices
•Ensure equipment is maintained and operating correctly
•Work in a safe and methodical manner
•Maintain a clean work environment
•Drive continuous improvement
•Actively manage testing to ensure smooth progress of the job
•Ensure that test results are recorded and that documentation is completed and passed to the next
production process in a timely manner
•Carry out tasks without supervision
•Manage OPTIMAT database for test results and test reports.
•Prepared samples through polishing for
Metallography and other tests.
• Carried out Metallurgical tests (Microscopic
examination, Macroscopic examination, Hardness
test, Corrosion test) on daily basis.
• Analysis of the results and providing final reports
to manager.
• Assisted Senior Metallurgist in Laboratory
analysis.
• Visiting client’s end for inspection of material
section cutting for analysis.
• Worked on various projects and achieved fruitful
results which earned client’s appreciation.
• Developed Professional communication skills by
working closely with clients.
• Gained vital Technical skills by working on a
project “Metallography techniques” for the
company.
•Worked on improving client database by constantly
interaction.
• Worked with Sales Manager to deal with clients,
hence improving interpersonal skills.
• Advising the clients with best matched products
according to their requirements.
• Visited JSW steel plant Dolvi (MH, India) for
successful trial of our cored wire product.
• Assisted Senior Engineer in an ongoing project of
determining the black coloring of Ferro-Magnesium
Alloy.
•Subjects- Project Management, Research Methods, Engineering Computing, Innovation & Design, Engineering Alloys, Recent developments in metals, Polymeric Materials, Materials & Selection of design, Structural analysis of materials, Surface Engineering, Ceramic Materials, Welding Engineering. •Thesis- “Wear resistant quenched and tempered steel micro-alloyed with titanium”.
•Subjects- Engineering Mathematics, Metallography, Corrosion Engineering, Welding Techniques, Steel making, Project Management, Iron Making. •Thesis- “Recrystallization kinetics of pure iron”.
