My primary role as a Program Manager is to manage some of the largest Programs for top clients in the Business Centre; with large teams in offices across countries, for several programs & projects running across the GCC region - primarily healthcare, hospitality, high-end retail, industrial and mixed- use residential projects. My other role of Operations Manager includes portfolio management for key clients across UAE and KSA.
Was employed as PROGRAM AND OPERATIONS DIRECTOR for the Middle East region of this large Architectural Consultancy. My role was to support the CEO in managing the Middle East operations of this architectural practice; implementing systems to streamline cross-department integration and effective stakeholder management towards efficient delivery of projects. The Project Management, Project Setup and Project Operations role involves Initial setup of LDC contract with Scope, Fee and schedule, selection of sub-consultants and their contracts, ongoing cost and schedule management, stakeholder management and setting up systems for delivery of a robust documentation set. The People Management aspect embraced resource allocations for all ongoing projects and bid submissions to align with proposed project schedules.
Was employed as SENIOR ASSOCIATE (Sr. Design Manager), in the Planning-Design-Development department of AECOM - one of the largest international multi-disciplinary practices in the Middle East. My most recent assignment as Design Manager and Senior Project Manager, has been for the AED 2.2 Billion Louvre Abu Dhabi Museum project on the Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi. Previous completed project as Senior Design Manager in 2009-2010 has been for the AED 2.5 Billion Zayed University project in Abu Dhabi, where I led a large multi-disciplinary team of over 70+ professionals (Architects and Engineers), for 19 buildings within the Male and Female Campus, from Schematic Design through to completion of construction documents.
Employed as ASSOCIATE - DESIGN MANAGEMENT, heading the Design Management department in a leading Architectural Practice specializing in the disciplines of Urban Design, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Interior Design and Design Management, with offices in three major cities in New Zealand. My primary responsibility was the complete Design and Project Management of projects including high level project initiation aspects of Business Cases / Models, Strategic / Master Planning, Development strategies and Opportunity analysis, Project & Design risk analysis, and then, down to more project focused aspects of Project Planning with budget and resource allocations, Government authority processes, selection and coordination of the entire range of specialist and building industry design consultants through all stages of the project, earned value analysis for budget and program, project cash flow and budgeting, progress reporting etc. I managed a team of Project Coordinators within the Design Management discipline, involved in an average of 6-8 projects at any given time, ranging from NZ$ 10m to NZ$ 260m. Also, as the company QUALITY MANAGER, I was responsible for the office-wide quality systems including aspects of staff mentoring plus development of quality initiatives, processes and tools towards the “Total Quality” aspirations of the company.
Employed as PROJECT MANAGER in this Interior-Architecture Firm. Primary responsibility was the complete Project Management of all projects involving liaison with all external parties involved with the project, from the client through to all the contractors and suppliers, together with internal office management of the project team including architects, draft persons, quantity surveyors and assisting office staff; complete with regular project feedback and updates to the Directors.
Employed as SENIOR ARCHITECT in the Architecture Department of a Multi-Disciplinary Consultancy Firm. Primary responsibility entailed complete Design and Project Management of several projects. Other responsibilities included Conceptualization, Space planning & design, Specifications & Documentation, Co-ordination of Mechanical, electrical & other related services, supervision of draftspersons in production of government submission drawings and construction drawings plus overall on-site management & co-ordination of the contractors, suppliers and other agencies.
