Job Description
Credit Risk Evaluation and Underwriting
•Critical examination of the policy/procedures and new products to ensure that all the risks factors have been identified and mitigated in accordance with the Corporate strategy/QCB regulations
•Pre-approval review of Credit/Transaction Applications of Wholesale, International and SME Banking based on the comments/analysis to ensure it is consistent with policy guidelines and QCB regulations.
•Negotiate and coordinate with relationship teams and clients on the structure the credit facilities. Conduct site inspections and customer visits wherever necessary to assess and discuss the requirements of the client.
•Sign off Credit Applications and Transaction Applications based on approval delegations and to recommend/approve acceptable credit risk.
•Approve internal rating and maintain Credit Grading System and validate the rating parameters including integrating the system into the Risk Evaluation unit for rating review process.
• Overall supervision of the day to day operation of the Credit Risk Evaluation of the Bank.
Portfolio Monitoring and other Credit Risk Functions
•Use discretion in allowing exception like TOD, EOL, one off transaction etc. to facilitate business needs.
•Define and develop sector, concentration, group and collateral-wise exposure limits for the entire credit portfolio and organise risk/performance analysis reports for Bank’s top management.
•Oversee the monitoring activity of the advances through the periodic reports/watch list, determine causes of default, do SWOT analysis and recommend remedial steps to the Credit Committee
•Develop and maintain the parameters under the Credit Grading system and capital calculation for standardized approach and laying the foundation for the IRB foundation and advanced approaches.
•Authorizing release of credit facilities based on the Facility Release Forms on the recommendations of the Credit and Documentation Analysts.
•Review and monitor broad spectrum of risks associated with Bank’s lending business, quantifying & analyzing risk exposures and recommend strategy to effectively manage the exposure.
•Develop Probability of default (PD) and LGD Model across all product lines and segments the entire advances portfolio on the performance of a product/segment/sector.
•Liaise with Internal/External/QCB Auditors on the Credit Risk related issues, provide support in examining the credit portfolio of the Bank and facilitate closure of the findings report.
•Develop credit risk skills and arrange regular knowledge sharing and training for risk and business
•Involved in ICAAP (Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Programme) process, and other Basel II planning work, relating to capital management and Selection of IT systems
