Controller for 4 Operating Companies in Dubai, Saudi and Jordan including 3 Full Fledged Manufacturing Units. Head of Finance from 4 opco’s reporting to me.
Member of Region’s Management Team and all Finance matters of all the companies need to be vetted before any action.
Member of Audit committee for the opco.
Extending strategic guidance to Local OPCO Management in achieving targets and budgets.
Helping operating company Finance Managers in following IFRS rules and procedure.
Ensuring accuracy of monthly reporting and constantly working on methods of improving the quality of financial forecast/reports.
Ensuring that opco’s submit realistic sales and margin forecast for rest of the year and challenge their assumptions for the same.
Help the operating company management in writing their ‘5 years business plan’
Monitoring their cash flow and ensure that no excess cash is left behind in any opco.
Member of Management Committee, responsible for the day to day operation of the company. (with a turnover of around USD 120M per annum and 200 staff on payroll)
Overseeing MIS, Costing & Accounting Systems, Budget & Forecasts, Stock Takes, cash-flow etc.
One of the very important task is to ensure that, “Actual Cash-flow” for the month is better than the budget, as whole Management committee’s incentive is depend on that.
Ensuring the statutory audit is conducted in time. (Auditors KPMG)
Maintain the relationship with local partner, lawyers, Auditors & bankers.
Submit the monthly result on 3rd working day.
Monthly rolling forecast for next 18 months of complete PNL & BS items to be reviewed and finalised every month (based on monthly actual performance).
CAPEX review and submission of proposals with 10 year revenue figures for the required CAPEX.
Trade licence and chamber of commerce matters
Acting as Company secretary for the Board of directors and conducting board meeting & other UAE Company law requirements.
Passing any board resolutions.
Area of responsibility also covers Personal Management, as no full time personal manager was available in the opco.
Participating in finalising annual staff increment for the whole of company.
Setting up & monitoring sales incentive and finally calculation & disbursement.
Responsibilities include managing IT department as well. Purchase of software, replacement of hardware, migration / purging of data are some of the functions comes under my remit.
Hardware include - 62 laptops, 40 desktops and 8 servers.
Managed the turnover increase (by 350%) with minimum addition to the manpower in both Finance & IT department.
Designing, implementing & monitoring MIS, Costing, Accounting Systems / Procedures and Budgets for the region.
Budgetary control and variance analysis.
Ensuring the statutory audit is conducted in time.
Submit the monthly result in time and accurate.
Handling the project accounting for the new factory construction.
Handling new factory establishments and Legal / Tax matters of the region.
