Job profile
• Installation of submersible pumps, induction motors and wiring of starter panels such as star-delta, direct-on-line, and transformer auto starter and as well as trouble shooting.
• Testing of various type electrical equipment, installation and repair.
• Faults diagnosis and rectification on medium and high voltage networks i.e. locating cable faults, mending cut conductors and line faults.
• Operation and maintenance of medium and high voltage switch gear.
• Maintenance of electrical installation and equipment; namely transformers, line maintenance, up-rating of transformers that is introducing in re-enforcement transformers, splitting of medium voltage lines in order to balance the loads, and maintenance of switch gear such as ocbs, ring main units and sf6 circuit breaker.
• Testing of various electrical installation and equipment. I.e. phasing out lines, pressure testing, earth resistance testing, testing of circuits and volts (determining their knee points and saturation points) and meter testing.
• Distribution board and control panel wiring, components assembling and installation.
• Handling the major work of Electrical erection works, Control Panel wiring and Trouble shooting and Maintenance of various types and make such as.
• Installation, Commissioning, Testing & Maintenance with Motor production Relay, Isolators, contactors, Relays and starters.
• Commissioning the motor feeders, checking IR value of cables and winding resistance of motor, loop checking, control testing and start up activities.
• Installation, repairing and testing of HV & LV electrical equipment, this includes motors, breakers, battery, cable laying, jointing, glanding and termination.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Using test equipment & hand tools to diagnose locate & fix electrical problems.
• Checking & testing circuit breakers and replacing them where required.
• Responsible for costing and estimating commercial jobs, tenders and enquiries.
• Tracing, diagnosing and rectifying electrical faults. Carrying out electrical installation and maintenance work.
• Carrying out new project work, design and installation. Interpreting work instructions, drawings and schematic diagrams.
• Maintaining and repairing all electrical equipment. Connecting wires to circuit breakers, transformers and other components.
• Accountable for all electrical and general tasks relating to maintenance.
• Travelling to locations on site and working both indoor and outdoor.
• Using tools & testing equipment including oscilloscopes, ammeters & test lamps.
• Administrative work like maintaining records and files and preparing reports.
• Working on ladders, scaffolds, and roofs in retail outlets, pubs, local authorities and general commercial office buildings.
• Well experienced in trouble shooting and immediate recovery.
Handled Testing and Measuring Equipment's
• Digital mugger, multi meter, Clamp meter, Earth fault tester.
Computer knowledge
• Diploma in office Automation ( DOA)
First class with desiginiation 82 percentage
• Higher secondary school certificate (HSSC) passed March 2001 in first class.
