KEY ROLE, DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
o Accountable as Department Head for Accounting & Finance, Human Resources, Administration and Public Relations Department
o Responsible for planning, implementing, managing, controlling & developing all finance, HR and administration related activities
o Assist in formulating the company’s future direction, tactical initiatives, monitoring & directing business plans
o Support/partner with General Manager in preparing monthly General Manager’s reports, quarterly Financial/commercial/business reviews material, annual/periodic Board meetings material including annual business performance review, declaration of dividends and approval of Audited Financial reports etc.
o Develop Financial & Tax strategies focusing on EVA maximization.
o Team training development, coaching & mentoring
o Oversee all financial transactions, processing systems & ensure data integrity
o As Chairman of Pay review committee, recommend to General Manager annual pay increments recommendations
o Ensure compliance with IFRS, GAAP, Qatar Labour Laws and all other relevant commercial/tax/other laws
Notable accomplishments/highlights:
o Instrumental in increasing revenue by 70%, gross margins by 100%, optimized and rationalized indirect overheads to below 8% of turnover
o Leading role in trimming WIP (Work in progress) by 25% by closely collaborating with contracts and commercial teams in speedier certifications, timely cost release, accounting support, value added analysis etc.
o Key role in improving return on working capital by 25% during 2010-2015 by optimizing fixed assets, current assets and third party liabilities
o Moved from legacy accounts in Tally to modern ERP system by playing a lead role in successful design and implementation of ‘Coins’ as a super user from May 2013 to date.

Lead production of annual budgeting and periodic forecasts

Ensure timely audit of accounts, involving all Big 4 Audit firms to timely audit various REIT companies as per Canadian Laws.
Work on different assignments for their clients including Morguard Real estate group, construction companies. Role includes monthly financial statements, audit, tax reporting, budgeting & forecasting, statutory reporting etc.
