1. Journal Entries :

Verifies journal entries for payables and receivables and post them to their appropriate accounts.

Investigates and corrects errors and inconsistencies in journal entries.

Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures.

Assits team members with journal entries when needed.

2. Reconciliation :

Reviews and reconciles payables and receivables.

Conducts monthly bank reconciliations for all the companies under the group.

3. Auditing and Reporting :

Assists with tax audits and tax returns.

Review accounting procedures and recommends modifications and improvements.

Monitors the trial balance for any errors and makes changes accordingly.

Monitors accounting operations and suggests ways to improve efficiency and cost savings.

Assists with monthly and end-of-year closing activities.

Accounting management:


Responsible for day to day finance and accounts operations

Collecting information and documenting financial transactions

Review the Daily Bank Position

Performs bank reconciliation to align company's records with bank's statements, and making the right action if necessary

Check writing and bank letters (Transfers orders, Payroll transfers...)

Reviewed processing and computation of payroll

Financial reports & Taxation:

Analyze profitability by client

Receivables & payables reports (similar to cash flow but more detailed)

Preparation of quarterly tax on Salaries R10 and NSSF Report


Auditing Documents:

Prioritizes invoices according to cash discount potential, cash flow and payment terms

Maintaining financial security by following internal controls

Maintaining customer confidence and protecting operations by keeping financial information confidential

Working consultatively with the respective departments on cost reduction initiatives

Supporting external auditors by coordinating information requirements

Job Costing:

Perform project cost/budgets according to the architects time sheet spent on each project as well as for the other direct related expenses/project, cost tracking, monitoring

Evaluate project costs and ensures that costs remain within budgetary limits

Stock Taking:

Purchasing, sales

Prepares all data entries (PPI, PV, RC, SS, GJ)

Prepares reconciliations ( Banks, Cash, Customers, Suppliers)

Follows up on payments, receivables and related invoices

Prepares end of month closing entries

Checks and signs all data entries prepared ( PPI, PV, RC, GJ, SS)

Reviews and signs prepared petty cash

Prepares daily Bank Balance

Assists in balance sheet review and reconciliation

Managing all accounting operations based on accounting principles

Assists in preparing budget and financial forecasts

Follows up with bank and related matters
Assists in taxes declarations (VAT, R10, NSSF, Income tax)

Preparing journal entries

Completing General Ledger Operations

Monthly Closing and Preparation of monthly financial statements

Issuing suppliers and customers statement of account and follow up with them

Reconciling and maintaining balance sheet accounts

Bank Reconciliation, suplliers and customers

CNSS Calculations
