Serving as Audit senior at Deloitte and playing my role in finalization of various audit and advisory assignments my main responsibilities included the following:

• Design audit approach, conduct field work execution, coordinate audit staff, planning and allocating resources to meet objectives of different engagements.
• Coordinate the completion of audit engagements and interact with clients to discuss field audit issues; manage engagements and people along with ensuring deliverables meet work plan specifications and deadlines.
• Working under the supervision of professional Audit Managers and Audit Partners which includes a daily to weekly update of audit progress, participate in pre-audit planning for audit engagements, conduct testing of design, implementation and operating effectiveness of controls and research Deloitte internal and external resources to obtain overall understanding of the client’s industry.
• Provide recommendations for improved controls and enhanced business efficiency;
• Perform review on financial statements prepared by the client including balance sheet, profit & loss statement, cash flow statement; perform accounting research to solve issues that arise during the course of audit or compliance engagements.

Key Achievements

• Managed various phases of the audit engagement including planning, execution and documentation.
• Identified non-performing loans valuing more than 1 million dollars during audit of a bank.
• Identified errors in revenue booking of a telecom company.
• Managed and led team of more than 5 people at various audit engagements.
• Assisted, Manager Audit during Quality Control Review of an audit engagement by Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan.

I started my professional career with KMPG Pakistan Islamabad office as audit intern and remained there for 2 months. During my association with KPMG I have been part of audit engagement team of Standard Chartered Bank Limited Pakistan.

As part of engagement team I performed test of controls in 5 branches on deposits, anti money laundering, loan and advances, account opening and dormant accounts.

Filled check lists and reported identified deficiencies in internal controls to job in charge.

I have completed CA intermediate, from Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) which is equivalent to bachelor degree in accounting and finance. ICAP is well known for its most rigorous examination and training system and producing best Chartered Accountants. Now I am CA finalist with 6 papers remaining of CA final examination and have completed 3 years 2 months full time training period in audit & assurance with Deloitte Pakistan. After completion of my CA intermediate stage I had 2 months internship as audit intern with KPMG Pakistan which is one of the big 4 prestigious accountancy firms in Pakistan. During my school days I was a gymnast and I received best gymnastic player award in annual parents day ceremony. Apart from that I also received a best boarder award during my boarding days in school for good discipline, extra curricular activities, and best dressing.

Hobbies

  • Playing table tennis and badminton
    Not earned any honor or award however participated in various table tennis and badminton tournaments arranged by Deloitte and during my college days.
  • Gymnastic
    Gymnastic was my passion during my school days. I attended various gymnastic competitions arranged by Pine Hills Public School and College and won best gymnast award in annual parents day during 2000.
  • Running, jogging and hiking
    I always loved to have physical activities like running and hiking. Achievements: As per miCoash Adidas app installed on my phone I run 5 to 6 miles on weekends. My running stats on the app shows average 14 miles running per week. I mad a record of 14000 steps hiking in one day as per my nokia X Runtastic pedometer.
  • Socializing with family and friends
    I always loved to socialize with my family and friends. We arranged various picnics and get to gathers.
  • Google earth
    I am very good with maps. My interest in maps enables me to tell location of most of the countries in global map. Searching and finding various counties on google earth is fun for me
