DAR was running over 8 billions worth of Client projects in UAE during Dubai Boom Era . My responsibility was the entire remit of the projects form the concept stage (Master planning) to the construction and delivery stage. Details briefly follo

•Liaising with clients initially to understand the concept. Meetings are held in the presence of all Departments Head and an outline is drawn to assign a time frame to the project.
•Dealing with the local governmental authorities to gain necessary design & construction approval. (DEWA, CD, DM) all on an executive level.
•Work with the sub-consultants involved such as Infra, ID & MEP to ensure timely delivery of project design elements.
•Ensuring that the assigned PM is fully briefed on the clients requirements form the general aims to specific concepts. Ongoing monitoring of the projects including all financial implications.
•Coordination efforts with the QS & Contract Department regarding the preparation of the specifications and Tender documents to make sure all elements of design & coordination are fulfilled so to avoid any omitting information. This is to avoid any variation or unexpected cost to the client once construction commences.
•Oversee and manage the tender evaluation and make necessary recommendations.
•The Project will be handed over to my department and the PM will be assigned by me, all meetings will be held internally in order to enhance THE VISION, THE COMMITMENT of the PM before & during the course of the project.
•Attending Bi-Weekly meetings during the course of the construction followed by visits to the client to ensure ongoing satisfaction as well as implementing any corrective actions as necessary.
•Holding monthly meetings with all PM's of all the projects to discuss the management modules conducted, enhancing the general awareness of all contractual approach done by other PM's at other site as an example to reach best performance .
•Other duties include : Studying all policies and procedures, monitoring of resources, V.O's, work programs, planning & Financial budgeting. Advise on all contracting issues.
•Auditing the correspondences exchanged by the PM’s, Contractor and Clients to ensure proper FIDIC implementation and administration of contracts.
•Supervising and monitoring the process and procedures of handing over the projects to deliver exceptional results for clients. Monitoring policies and procedures
•The number of direct reports differs according to the size and number of ongoing projects. Currently Dar have 35 projects, with 22 project Managers reporting directly to me and 30 RE's reporting to the Project Managers
